Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

So I found the problem to my no oil pressure gauge problem. I guess when I was changing the filter I must have broken off that sensor. It was just hanging there lol. And the place it comes from has those 2 plastic connectors and the orange seal. Does anyone have a part number for this? Or even better... a name? (oil pressure sensor?)

oil pressure sending unit...you should be able to get it at most parts stores

Make a video

That would be the worlds most boring video. Now if I end up being bored some night this weekend while I am sitting around with a case of beer... Well the soldering iron might come out and things could get interesting. I'm thinking a dual battery setup with the PCB completely rewired/rebuilt and a regulator that kicks in the 2nd battery when full power is reached providing 100% power straight to the motor

Unless you are talking about a video of the plane. I could try and do that if it flys.. Or I could try and do that to watch it crash and burn :firedevil

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

I'm probably gonna do an 8.8 with 4.10s + LSD if I can get it cheap enough... I would rather only pay for one set of gears if I can. If I don't end up doing that, it's 4.56s or 4.88s time.

hupo get a good quality sender. the ones from advanced / autozone break in about 2 weeks. if you get them installed without breaking

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

haha yeah, that was on my "drive to PA and NJ to pick random stuff up and drop other random stuff off" trip. I actually live in central mass :D It was a 550 mile roundtrip for a set of tires and a 5hp lawn tractor, and to drop off a throttle body and a leaf bushing while I happened to be in the area.

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

it wasn't bad. the tires+rims were 150 total, lawn tractor was free (we're currently screwing around with it and plan to make it into a portable generator / winch / whatever), it was only 10 hours of driving. Great way to spend a weekend :D

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

Personally I'd probably pull one from a junkyard because they aren't exactly critical to operation (so long as they aren't physically broken.)

I saw a hilarious :gee: quality fix on one the other day. Someone had broken the thing in half and then gobbed RTV on it till it stayed together. I bumped into it with a wrench and it popped in half...

I had one that popped the seal between the sensor and the oil line and it started leaking out around the wires.
So ..

I had to go get another one, but until then. I used RTV to plug up the wire holes and all around the plastic body of the sensor. When I put the new one in, the old one drained out a huge puddle of oil all over the place.

:shhh:

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

lol. Yeah I will probably go to the junkyard and just pocket it and grab something else that I probably need more. There is no oil leaking. Just 2 plastic prong things sticking out of the adapter. And the plug is just sitting attatched to the harness on top of my oil filter.

Oh funnnn :)
