JUST FOR BANDIT

Re: The "JUST FOR BANDIT" thread

i'd bet that doesnt last too long

I'm looking at ordering a foot of 3inch UHMW round. I can chop that up and put it on the lathe for rounding the edges and putting a center hole.

Sounds like a lot of work for a simple do nothing project. I cant even flex far enough to use my bump stops. I either hit my springs with my tire, or a control arm, or a fender. Guess thats the point of them but its not causing any damage.

As for RTV, the perch is literally an 1/8th inch thick, just as easy to drill and even use a regular bolt to tap it out. If the springs are out its a 5 minute process.

Re: The "JUST FOR BANDIT" thread

5 min. epoxy worked great for me...I put way too many pucks in and bottomed out really hard on them as a result. They never moved, although if I had the springs out I'd probabaly just use a self tapper.

very true, will probably use self tappers unless I forget to and bumpstop afterwards.

the other plus about hammereds Idea is that if you need 2.5" you can make them the exact length

Re: The "JUST FOR BANDIT" thread

Haha I have a story to share with you all. So today, my friend (Driver of an Isuzu SUV) texted me and was like yo wanna go mudding? I was like haha yeah sure. So I took him through the local field with him riding shotgun, then down a small rutted trail, then a creek crossing. So we went back, picked my friend up, and we got his Isuzu and went back. He gets to the first spot, and gets stuck XD. He guns it and we push and I get CAKED in mud. He was stuck for only a few minutes. So he wimped out and said we were gunna go back cause there was a storm coming too.

(Side note: I went thought the mud 3 more times to show him he needs a jeep :D) we get to the road and we smell burning hay and see smoke. We get to my house and hose it really quickly. He was straddling a hay row that got cut, and it got sucked up around both driveshafts, and was touching the exhaust system.

So we get to my home (2 miles away) and hose it down. Then it starts POURING! So we're running around trying to put out a small fire while we are soaking wet. We do 1000 and 1 things to try and get this crap out. We got alot out and controlled the heat, but there was a REALLY bad spot. My friend and his cousin ended up leaving and giving up after an hr. We jacked it up, took off the driveshaft with the help of my dad, and got it allllll off. It was black and rock solid. It was a pretty hilarious time!

Re: The "JUST FOR BANDIT" thread

they hooked it up, when i first called for a quote they said 35-40 bux. but since Matts dad is sales manager, they did it for 25 :D

even at 35 tho id definately do that over spray painting any day. i thought powder coating parts was expensive. from now on tho everything is getting powder coated.
