Just did rear diff...now what?

I just removed my rear diff cover, cleaned out all the old gunk and cleaned up the old red gasket material. I used a brass brush and carb cleaner to clean all the surfaces. I put a thin bead of permatex red on both halves then put them together. Right now all the bolts are finger tight. How long should I wait until I tighten them up all the way and put new oil in? The permatex label says 24 hours to cure. Will I have to wait that long to fill it up and drive my Jeep?

You can tighten the bolts to spec and refill the diff. immediately.

Thanks Jeff. I have put 2 quarts of oil in and it's not full yet. I only bought 3, hopefully it will not take more than that!!

I don't know what the diff capacity is, but if 3 quarts isn't enuf, you can safely drive on 3 quarts to get to the store to buy more fluid if you need it.
