for those who are unaware of who Mako is ..
they are a ebay stoe that carries all kinds of products for 4 wheelers
anyhow
I ordered a set of coils from them, its now been a month and half and havent recieved my stuff
they finally send me a tracking # for the coils and low and behold they shipped to a totally diffrent address
really unacceptable seeing as I payed with paypal
and as anyone who has used paypal knows that the shipping address goes right along with the payment email stating that the seller has recieved money

I know I should have just ordered from Dirk

long story short

DO NOT EVER , EVER ,EVER DO BUSSINESS WITH THESE GUYS
the customer service is also shit
5 days to answer a email WTF :rattle:

What are they doing to rectify this? Sounds like a clerical error, probably not personal and probably not worth bashing them in the forums. If it had been 6 months with lots of broken promises and a long email trail, then hey, bash away. Lots of guys buy from them and this is the first complaint I've heard. We'll see what Shimmy has to say.

this doesn't belong here... but, what happened to you has never happened before. one misunderstood incident doesn't make a company bad. personally i would buy from the company directly, instead of thru ebay.

brandon
on the other hand, i would be really disappointed and uspet if i were in the same situation... email is slower than over phone, and i have no idea why mako hasn't tried another means of communication.

i bought manythings from them... usually ship really fast or it takes a while and they mention it on the bid. last thing i bougth was a motor tranny mount set and it took a month to ship cuz i didnt tell them what make and model jeep i had... read their bids carefully

I also had a bad experience with them. After waiting several weeks, I ened up cancelling my order and getting a refund.

Mako is located here in Salt Lake where I live and I wanted to buy a few things from them but they won't let me swing by the shop to pick anything up. They won't even tell me where they are at in the city and they said everything must be mailed out. I could really care less if it's a guy working out of his garage, I just wanted to save time and money with the shipping since they are local. Sounds very fishy to me so I decided to purchase elsewhere instead.

Probably drop-ship only...which means things are not being physically handled by the seller. Freight charges are how some of these guys make their $$.

basically what I wanted to do is have a referece post so people that are thinking about ordering from them can do a search and find something about the company
this is right of their auction stuff

All issues should be resolved first through email to [email protected] we will answer your email within 24-48 hours

totally untrue
It just seems to me that since they are supposed to be a good company to deal with they should pay a little more attention to customer service

sure its a clerical error

but if you owned the company woulnt you try to resolve the issue as fast as possible

"email is slower than over phone, and i have no idea why mako hasn't tried another means of communication."

exactly my thoughts

I had planned on doing a run with these coils on my rig two months ago
and now the run is less than two weeks from today
doesnt look good:(

update : while writing this post I recieved an email form Mako
asking me what my name and address is ....................

I GAVE THEM MY PHONE # to make it easier for them to contact me
I would think they would use it
I guess Ill see how sincere they are about fixing this problem

Also , I have given them my phone # 3 times on thier aswering machine
and my correct address 3 times through email
I will keeep ya guys updated

its just a little disheartening finding such a plethora of products for cherokees at a good price and my first transaction goes to crap :rattle:

here here, Ive had a few instances of miss delivery, and not all paypal addy's are correct. 4 times I have shipped to unconfirmed addreses to find out they made the mistake when listing the addy with paypal. all that being said. You shoud ahve called them on the phone to see what has happened to your stuff. adn youcan place a claim with paypal to get a full refund I did it yeaterday to a puter company on ebay.

placing a claim with paypal can take over a month
individuals have 10 days to respnd to any paypal emails

the rep at paypal said it could take over a month to get a refund..

if they ship it, they can claim it wasn't a sale made in the city.. they can save on paying a city sales tax. If you come by and pick it up, they have to file every quarter.

I've paid online with other companies and then drove out and picked it up to save on shipping when they are local. The company already has proof of the online transaction for tax puposes. I even offered to pay the shipping so they could still make their money on that too. I just needed the part ASAP.

My guess is it's a drop ship thing like was mentioned earlier and these guys are just the middlemen.

Yeah I actually had a dispute with a local Louisville, KY shop for import parts (I know I was a ricer before someone wanted my Acura more than I did) later I found out this guy would place old orders with money received from current orders. He would wait for a new person to pay before he would order your part for you. He had good prices but sometimes had to wait for parts. Although some of his stuff could have fallen off the back of a truck for all I know...

Not saying these people are the same way; just my $.02
