Anyone out there know of any good junkyards in the Northern CO/Southern WY areas that are plentiful with early to mid 90's XJ's? Im mainly looking for spare driveline parts(axle and driveshafts) and a few other commonly "broken on the trail in the middle of nowhere" items. Any direction or help would be appreciated! ;)

Andersons, it's in Greeley. "U-Pull It" type of yard, set prices. Always has alot of XJs. Pulled two XJ 44s out of there in one year. Not alot of people frequent the yard. So alot of items that are valuable to us go untouched/un-noticed..................

If Andrew (hjeepxj) sees this, he could give you the exact address and probably even dig up a pricing sheet.

If you want to head over there, I might be up to a visit. I need to get out of the office. Give me a day or so notice and check the weather. I can grab a bunch of tools. I need to score an O2 sensor and a couple of trivial pieces but could help you if you need to pull something major.

Will do...im thinkin friday afternoon/saturday morning sometime. Would be nice to have an experienced XJ'er with me to help spot the "good stuff" :laugh3:

Right now no D44s in the lot off XJs but they do have plenty of XJ's there. It's only like 10 15 min from my house. Thats my tierod replacement lot. So if you see them missing them I got them. Ok I've only taken 2 or 3. If you want waggy axles thats the place to shop.

Any idea what they charge for 8.25 and D30 axle shafts?

O man I just tossed out my last price list for stuff there. I'm thinking like 10 bucks or so.
A whole axle is like 150 I think If that. Call them they have counter guys that can give you prices on stuff.

Sure would be nice to find a 8.25 outta a 4 cylinder with the 4.10s or 4.56's...but id settle for a set of spare shafts! Weathers lookin good for Friday afternoon...ill be down there noonish...maybe a hair later if anyone wants to hook up and scrounge for parts!

Our shop is going to be closed on friday for a memorial service at 10. If I don't have to come in for a bit in the morning I might be able to make it over there.

I called them today to get some prices...Can you believe they want almost 30 bucks per axle shaft with core?!?! Or 60 bucks for a driversside front fender. I dont know about you guys, but that sounds kinda high to me for used "junk"... :wierd:

30 bucks with core? thats doesn't sound right they want that broke shaft? or are you getting this as a trail spare?
Thats so odd. I don't think I have paid for much out there that was out of reason.

Sounds more like Jeeps Unlimited pricing; all of their junk is priced as if it were gold...

Yeah, that doesn't sound right at all. You can get a whole rearend, drum to drum for $125 or $175 for a front end. I used to pull gas skids out of there for $15 a pop....

I thought that sounded weird too...it is for a trail spare, but i couldnt on earth see why they would want a broken shaft??

I did ask about a complete axle and they said 125 i believe with a core charge for that too...i dunno, the guy i talked too did sound a little like a bonehead so who knows. Do they have printed out price lists there?? I guess ill find out tomarrow.

yup you walk in on the right singe in and next to that is a price list I couldn't find the one I had in the jeep I might have tossed it or it caught on fire in the garage when working on the bumper. hahahah just kidding I lost it I guess.
