Junk Yard Parts Finds/Requests

oceanside ecology has an 89 lerado thats sitting on 33s in the rear. front coils might be some small lift with a 2 inch aluminum spacer then about 2inches of rubber. thought it was some acoas at first. but they are not. rear leafs seem to be stock, not sure how he stuffed 33s under it. only good things i saw were the under hood factory trouble light (i took that) and some nice headlights. H4 hologens (55/60W) with complete glass lenses and nice reflectors. actually looked like some nice head lights. i left them as i have a waggy with duel headlights.

Was there today! Same Lerado has nice set of tow hooks on it and factory hitch.

There is another hitch on an 88 twards the back.

I asked the lady at the checkout window how much for them (the hitches) Something like $56?

ok yea i saw the hitches and forgot to mention them. i have 2 of them so i guess it slipped my mind. especially since they used the hitch to raise it up instead of the body/frame. i suppose you can try and ask them to reposition it with the fork lift. still wondering how they got those 33s under the rear of it though. maybe i was wrong about the leafs being stock?

I also went over to GALLANT'S TRUCK SALVAGE. They have a Wagoneer with a front D44. Price is $350

Oh.. Address is 1020 Airport RD. Oceanside, Ca 92058

why with abs?

The boosters from XJs with ABS have dual diphram boosters. The XJs without ABS only have single diaphram boosters. There is a SIGNIFICANT difference in power between the two.

:bs:

The dual diaphragm boosters are from 1995 - 2001 whether you have ABS or not. Since the guy has a '93 he'll want a 1995 or 1996 booster from an XJ or a WJ setup (I haven't personally ran a WJ booster though). Don't waste your time putting a single diaphragm booster back in an XJ.

I thought all XJs with aBS had dual diaphrams?

Oh well :dunce:

my non ABS 95 has a Dual Diaphragm Booster.

Minor_obstacle: Don't waste your time with the hassle of adding ABS to your rig if it didn't come with it. All of the XJ ABS units I've seen are problematic at best. Put a big booster on there and be happy with your new stopping power. There are plenty of them in the yards. This will help you ID them.

From left to right, XJ single diaphragm, 00 WJ dual diaphragm, and XJ dual diaphragm. (not my pic)

My 96 setup looks like the middle booster + master

No ABS here either...... ABS is for girls....

Yup, Mike's image is incorrectly labelled. It's single XJ, WJ, double XJ there. The reason some folks have a hard on for the WJ booster (Hi Cal!) is because it's a bit dimensionally shorter than the XJ double.

I'm starting to wonder how much you actually know about XJs... :shhh:

By the way, how is my work light holding up???? I've been meaning to ask about it.. :dunce:

I know nothing so don't mind me.

It's been sitting in the tool box of the truck waiting to hook up with you. :D
