Joining the Jeepspeed/Baja world

Our plans are in.

We are doing alot to the car to get it prepped and ready, so by the time we're settled it looks like our first race will be the Primm 300 followed by SEMA and the Baja 1000.

I was informed today that our body guy just finished painting it, I can't wait for him to send me some pictures!

Here are some updates:

  • April - The car went to the body shop, got worked and painted.
  • May - Mechanical Month - Currently have the front end disassembled getting new ball joints, a new stub shaft (thanks Eric), and new brake calipers, pads, and rotors. It'll also get some new steering rod ends and boots. Also going to make an adjustment eric suggested to the front bumpstops.
  • Late May & Early June - Car goes to Seubert (the other half of our team) for more mechanical. Fixing a leak, covering a hole in the rear diff (replacing the housing skid basically), and doing all fluids.
  • June - Testing around June 8th to 11th
  • July - Testing around July 14th to 17th
  • August - Primm 300
  • November - SEMA Show
  • November - Baja 1000

Here are a few shots of the car now. To see all of them, Like us on facebook. www.facebook.com/warriorproducts as that's where I've been keeping all of the updates. The current album has like 41 pics in it.

you guys want a matching tail light? I'll mail you a passenger side red/orange for that waggy full red :D I'm turning my 2door into a waggy.

So updates/upgrades, here's where we're at.

  • Optima is tossing us some new batteries. After the died once on us I'm not sure I trust them enough for the race car.
  • We are now going to be running the Vanco Big Brake Kit from Savvy Off-Road
  • Found that all suspension links on the unibody side had wallowed out holes, repairing that
  • Expired seat belts, new ones on the way
  • Nitrospeed Racing donated an AC delete bracket, goodbye AC pump
  • Re-sorting the switches and re-labeling the console so it flows a bit better
  • Adding breathers to both diffs, front missing, rear really really dirty
  • Found a hole, yes a hole, in the bottom of the 9" housing. Seems a rock must've peeled a chunk of the skidplate on it away. Housing doesn't leak so were building new skid.
  • Rebuilt front bumpstops, they were bottoming out, so we added an inch of travel to them and upped the nitrogen pressure
  • Replaced steering boots
  • Replacing one front limit strap that looks about to tear.
  • Balljoints replaced
  • Left front axle stub replaced, Unit bearing replaced
  • Axle U-joints replaced
  • All drivelines rebuilt including spares
  • Missing all bolts for transmission to xmember
  • Missing bolt on transmission causing leak
  • Found speed sensor wiring hanging, unplugged at the high side and removed
  • Received new Mastercraft Race Suits, Helmets, and Shoes for the team
  • Horns weren't working, installed Hella Supertone Twins
  • Motor Mount bushings shot, installing new ones
  • Possibly replacing Deavers with new ones, previous ones have been rearched a few times now.
  • Overhauled AWShifter lever, moves smoothly now.
  • Rebuilt upper and lower control arms, all joints shot, going to use as spares
  • Full new set of upper and lower links for primary race use

We also built a website www.warriorproducts.com/racing so we could keep up on what we're doing, and create the WP Racing facebook as well, which you can get to from that site.

There's some pics from the completed paint and such on that page.

It's Lexan.
T&J's Performance sell them already cut to fit.
I would suggest just buying them from T&J's, the window size is awkwardly shaped and harder to make than it sounds...
