Last weekend a few of my friends and I went out to do a little exploring and some shooting. The weather was great and we ended up shooting most of the day with very little exploring.
The six rigs getting ready to hit the highway after we drove up through some unexplored country north of Delle Ut.
With adults and kids there ended up being 19 of us. Here we are in my favorite shooting location. This is in a big depression, I'm not sure if it's a natural depression or if it's an old gravel pit but its great for shooting as it's about 250 yards across and no matter which direction you shoot, you are shooting into an embankment. Someone else thought so too because they have set target holders up at 50,100,150 and 200 yard distances.
All lined up and getting ready to shoot.
For some strange reason, my daughter has been scared to death of guns. She has been around them since birth, gone shooting with us more times than I can count yet she has always refused to shoot. This day we finally talked her into shooting her brothers .22 Henry and my 10/22.
I'd bought a new Ruger SR22 pistol the day before much to my sons delight. The kid absolutely loves shooting anything he can get his hands on.
Everybody...kids, moms and dads alike had an awesome time. Even though we didn't do a lot of exploring it was one of the better days I've had out in a while.
The competition heated up as we brought the bigger guns out. We even managed to dig up a couple of old naxja guys who haven't been around in a long time. We set up some clay pidgins at 165 yards and took turns taking them out.

I have to thank my cousin for letting my wife shoot their new Bushmaster AR. Now my wife wants one and when she wants a gun we are all winners.
The weather started turning cold and rainy so we left reluctantly and went off to a cave I've been to and camped in a couple of times. I've decided when the zombies come this will be my bug out location.

Finally on the way home it was time to give my boy a few more driving lessons. I was taught to drive as soon as I could reach the pedals. I figured that tradition should continue. He can't drive for long though because his back and neck start to hurt from straining to see over the wheel. LOL
