Jeep Themed Kids Room

My son is getting his room re-painted and he's interested in a Jeep/truck theme. Has anyone done this? I'm looking for some ideas :)

Doing this for my son....Ran out of room in the JEEP room downstairs...I bought a tire stencil from this place... Wall to Wall stencils Go down the page aways and you will see the off road stencil. Haven't done it yet but we are going to run two tire tracks up one wall...across the celing and down another wall. Plus I have some posters and toy jeeps that are going up in his room too.

Now if someone has plans for a Cherokee toddeler bed I will be a very happy man.

Digi-cam took a powder so I don't have any pics, but we did this sort of thing to our boys' room. I made a BFG KM tread pattern paint roller by tracing the tread, reducing it on a copier to 30%, and then cutting it out of a foam roller with an X-acto knife. Then we rolled parallel tire tracks around the room in fun directions. We did the tire tracks in black, over a light earthy tan tone base coat. It'll be hell to cover when the time comes, but it looks great now and the boys love it.

Get a header panel, grille, and headlight doors and hang it on the wall. I'm slowly peicing together the same thing to hang in my garage, and I'm going to make the lights blink. :D

I think it'd be cool if you could incorporate the CJ headlights somehow, and actually make them light up. Maybe make a Jeep bed? I dunno, just throwing out ideas.

I congratulate you on taking the time to do something for and with your kids. You get out of your kids what you put into them. One of the major problems with society today is that people have quit raising their kids and let the schools do it.

Congrats and keep up the good work.

...and a big "amen" to that. And he's raising them "Jeep"! Even better.

When both my kids were born I bought them toy jeeps. My sons first word was jeep and if I ask him to pick a DVD out instead of a disney movie or something like that he goes for the Rockcrawling or Jeep movies everytime.

There are some people out there that would want me arrested for brainwashing or child abuse.

Why not just use the tire as a roller. Couldn't be that hard

Ummm yeah it is....Ever tried holding a 35 incher above your head rolling out a PERFECT pattern? I tired to roll a pattern using a my tire onto a roll of wall paper...It didn't work that well. Easier to buy a stencil or cut one out of foam.

What you need to do is get a bucket of the nastiest, chunkiest mud you can find and splatter the walls. Make nice big clumps. Then figure a way to make sure it stays up there. Maybe plaster would be a better idea. Oh I dunno...brainstorming...

Great ideas - thanks! I'm going to try to make an Interco TSL stencil, with the big lugs it should be an easy pattern to make. A Jeep grill on the wall or the front of a bed would look good too. Thanks.

Let us know how it all turns out. I'm sure a lot of us would like to see pictures, if you wouldn't mind! I'm getting excited just thinking about it.

Oh, don't forget the big oil puddle in the middle of the room to make it more realistic.
