Jeep Blessing May 4, 2013. MICHIGAN

What if all the NAXJA peps stayed here?

"FWIW, we stayed at Northern Exposures Campground outside of Mesik, about 1/2 way between Twisted and the blessing. Nice campground and was quiet there, water and electric hook up was like 30/night"

If we can get one or two sites and split it and I can get the trailer in maybe we could do it cheap.

I haven't looked the place up tho.

mac 'quote from that other site' gyvr

worth looking into

it appears that I can get my trailer in there no problem

they have 50 amp sites but they are $40/night. depending on how big and how many people we still could do it pretty cheap. I really just need 30amp if we could find one for $30/night that my stuff fits, but I'll help with the difference if the bigger site is what we need.

I would envision coming up friday to be there by afternoon and leaving sometime on sunday...not too early, not too late.

They have a lake also.

I'm going to run this by the wife, but if dan is going to be there...it will probably be ok.

mac 'its an odd relationship :) ' gyvr

I have been to the northern exposure campground before mac. It is a nice little campground. Sits right on a lake as well. That may be the best bet for you. Heck that might be were we stay for friday night and just put up a tent. Maybe split a site with someone if somebody wants to.

I just took Sunday the 5th off.

Maybe go back to R&V to wheel on sunday?

Or camp Friday night up there and a true Midwest bon fire at my house on Sat, camping in the yard or crashing in the house??????

We will only be camping Friday night. We are heading up to Cheboygan Saturday night

gawd... 3 pages worth of, "where are we camping?" lol.

there are multiple grounds in cadillac, one that i know for sure is RV and trailer friendly.
there are plenty around mesick, which is a ton closer. but the few ive seen are very small/tight.

state land is going to be an unmaintained road in/out. no need for 4wd, but basically an ORV trail. no room for trailers. more of a pitch a tent or hammock and crash for the night. the manistee is beautiful though.

best bet is to just camp at twisted... its no farther than cadillac. and most people wheel at twisted the next day.

wheeler and mac, your going to have the problem of the jeep not being able to be driven on the road if your rigs arent street legal... basically no matter where you stay. your best bet is to stay in mesick. with all the jeep traffic, i think youll have a good chance of not getting pulled over if you decide to drive it on the road. but youll also have to drive strait through town to get to ellens. haha.

what time is the 'blessing'? there is a possibility that mac will be coming up to my house Friday and staying here, then us heading to the blessing Sat morning, then coming back here for more beers and fire.

"IF" this is what happens, everybody is welcome here to partake.

Mac is in the middle of deciding what jeep he is bringing/buying. If you attended Winterfest you would know he no longer owns the popcan.

Still a real good possibility of going up Friday to have beers there. :dunno:

I called Northern Exposure campground and they have a lot of campsites available.

Guess we are up for whatever happens. We are just gonna sleep in the back of the Jeep. Let us know what everyone decides to do. We are just camping Friday night as we have plans Saturday night

I think the gates for the blessing open at 8am but the wheeling part doesn't start till like 11 I think

if mac brings the 5.9, itll handle the stocker course and most of the intermediate stuff... all of it if hes so chooses. lol. for comparison... i plan to make the woman run the intermediate, the whole thing, with the manual.

pretty sure the blessing is at 9, wheeling 12-5. lots of vendors and cool rigs, little bit of wheeling. double check the link dylan posted for exact times.

word to the wise... no doughnuts in the grass parking lot.

I think that we are also gonna be running the intermediate course as well. I think the 5.9 can make it thru there just fine.

You won't go anyways.

The earlier you get there the better, will be lots of idle time in line if not...
Id prefer not to do that much driving, Id rather go up friday and leave saturday or sunday.

From the sounds of it you want to be first in line. Trying to figure everything out since this is our first time going to this event
