Well I made the plunge and ordered a set. Just showed today. I decided to test fit before smoothing out and prepping for paint. I would have to say I was kind of disappointed on the fitment of these. Before I go any further I want to say I am not trying to run JCR in the ground in any way.

Well to start off the bottom bolt for the taillight isn't even close and the whole thing seems shifted back even after bolting the other 3 bolts in the box. You can also see this in the gas door cut out.(top to bottom is good front edge is flush to the door back edge is 1/2'' behind the door opening)

Is this common? Anyone else come across this?

Like I said I'm not trying to dog the company I'm installing them reguardless, I just may have to make a few mods to get them the way I want.

You can kind of see here in this picture that the driver side doesnt fit quite right. It sits a little low by the trunk, but lines up pretty darn well with the gas flap. The little bracket that covers up the wiring fits perfectly as well, so the armor just sits a little bit low. Not much that i can do about that.

i'm ordering a set in the next couple weeks I think. I noticed that brendans was a little funky on the drivers side but other than that they looked good. Did you get the ones with taillights integrated Robert?

I ran into the same problem with mine and the gas door opening being a touch off, but I mainly contributed it to my rig already being tweaked all to hell and I was covering up 1/4 damage with my guards as well. I bought mine as just the guards, no tail light boxes b/c I was crafty and built a set of 60 #'ers :D

Yah I got the light boxes. Glad to hear not just me. Other than the front to back fitment they fit great. Now I just have to adjust the boomerangs to match the same line in the front. I have them cut to run flush with the door opening right now.

turn JCR onto this thread, im sure they woul be willing to take a second look at their design. after all, its costomer feedback that keeps a company on top of their game.

That is true but not every XJ is exactly the same. There are always gonna be minor differences that can't be accounted for. Also, even though the Guards are cut on a plasma table they may not be exactly perfect either. The parts I machine at work pretty much always end up in spec but are rarely dead on, then again we're talking Microns there not fractions of an inch. I'm sure they will see this and try to correct it if there is a major issue.

Well they went on today for the last time. WHat a pain. Overall I'm pretty happy even with the slight tweeking. I don't think anyone will notice the way its shifted unless they are looking for it. (or pointed out) Looks good on the jeep though.

On a side note anyone wire up the amber light as a marker/turn signal? I ended up wiring both lights as markers then the top is also brake and the bottom is turn but am up in the air on it. Just curious about others opinions on it

if you guys need LED's for those quarter guards, PM me. I might be able to get you a decent deal. Last I heard, they come with GROTE's. GROTE's suck. I can get good deals on Trucklite. Not a dealer, I just have connections.

I ended up going with superbrightled.com. Very bright,(61leds per bulb)

Another good company to deal with. I reccomend them if you don't go through Jake, he's alright too. :D
