I'm getting some new 31's here soon, putting together my sway bar discos as my new year's resolution. :repair:

Anyone wanna go wheeling this jan.? Anything up near boulder county or such areas would be great. Really don't know the area very well, and am looking for a wheeling trip.

What I will have by then:
2" lift (maybe.....idk christmas isn't here yet.)
31" A/T tires, brand spankin new tread.
Assorted recovery equipment, reinforced front bumper, replacement hitch (maybe)

i'll be willing to go. i'll have a similar set up to yours.

2inch lift, 30's, rear hitch, and im workin on getting front recovery points right now.

do you have a date in mind?

I really have no idea what trails are ideal, seems like we've got a few different people in the same spot. Something fairly mild we could do would be great, but something that will still be challenging.

i did a search for boulder county on 4x4trails.net with a max rating of 4 and this is what i got:

bunce school road - 2

caribou creek - 2

coney creek/coney flats - 4

eldorado mountain - 4

Johnny park road/big elk meadow - 4

lefthand canyon - 3

middle st. vrain - 4

sugarload mountain - 2

switzerland trail - 2

i havent run any of those so idk which ones are better or which ones will be closed.

There is a gate across the south end of Rampart Range rd, just about where the Mt. Herbert trail runs into it. Rampart Range rd is closed every winter.

i took it from balanced rock to woodland park for lunch at sonic....thats the whole trail...
im not doubting it just never did see the gate....

Add snow, ice, and life-threatening temperatures, you wind up in a whole different ballgame. Ever do any winter camping? It's a possibility you need to keep in mind.

Try Traildamage as well: http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php
