Hey guys,

I'm getting the itch to get the hell out of town and start doing some wheeling without having to drive too terribly far... I'm located in Raleigh but have wanted to hit the following spots:

- Uwharrie (Troy, NC)
- Stone Mountain National Park
- Pretty much anywhere around Boone
- Outer Banks

Are there any events coming up that I should know about? Hell, does anyone in the area want to try to put something together?

Sounds good. Uwharrie would probably be a good bet if you're interested. I'll do some more research and make a post when I'm ready to commit to something.

For anyone who's interested, please feel free to toss out suggestions. Definitely more into scenic wheeling and camping than flogging, so let me know your thoughts.

I would absolutely love to go I really enjoy scenic wheeling and camping myself. Only bad thing is my jeep is still under construction. It has been for way too long. I haven't wheeled my jeep in over a year. But I'd rather be safe then sorry.

That's a shame - what remains to be done? Maybe we can precede a trip with a wrenchfest of sorts to help get things wrapped up. Charlotte is out towards all the cooler stuff NC has to offer anyway, so it might be worth making a long weekend of it.

As of right now waiting to get a battery isolator, 2 awg cables, another battery tray, and gotta figure out how to do cowl induction, that's just to finish the alt upgrade and dual battery setup I'm doing. Then I have to replace my front springs, adj trackbar, adj control arms, and fix the leaky seals on my axles.

While you got both the shafts out replacing the seals you should go ahead and stick some outer tube seals in there. I LOVE mine. No gunk, water or mud in the tubes anymore!!!

I want... no NEED some wheeling soon!

Me and a couple of guys are planning a trip out to uwharrie the second weekend of November if your interested. I'm taking my 01 xj, and I know a Land rover and maybe and fj40 are going, not sure of what all else is going, but should be a couple more.

November is a HUGE month for local events. I am going to post some of them here.

Uwharrie this weekend if anyone is interested, I'll be heading up friday with my g/f and stayin till sunday. I love night wheeling out there.

Looks like I'll be doing the same thing (Auburn isn't playing this weekend so the girlie is willing to get out of town for a day or two). Everything looks to be on track, but I'll PM you by Friday morning if we will indeed make it.
