Is This Right??!!

well was looking at the Pro comp 3" lift and the Rustys 3" rustys leaf pack kit. The Pro comp kit comes with new coils, new rear leaf springs, new longer sway bar end links, new LCA's and shocks and its about $700 bucks i think maybe a little lower. Rustys kit is new coils, new Rear leaf springs, Front and Rear brakeline extensions, and shocks for $420 bucks. so which one would yall go with???? if i was to go witht he pro comp lift, id prolly try and getting someone to install it for me or someone that knows what there doing to help me, but if i go with the rustys ill prolly try and do it with a couple of buddies, so what yall think.

No, he is bsn you about needing all of these parts, they are preferable, but at 3 inches they are not a must. All of my friend and i started at 3 inches and I did not have the t case drop, the lowers or an sye but going any bigger you will probobly find that any sort of hard wheeling will require all of that with some sort of trac bar drop

If you wheel it ...It will break!!!

I have seen guys with the best stuff wheeling on the easiest stuff break things. If you put, or help put the stuff on, then you will have some idea how to fix it. Your mechanic is not going to go wheeling with you. People don't want to wheel with the guy that has no idea how to fix his own stuff. You have to learn how to fix your own junk, so learn early and save some cash! Get a Chilton's or a Haynes manual or even better a Factory Service Manual (FSM). If you can do a puzzle you can fix your junk. If you were closer I would help you. There are people that will help you, you just need to ask.

so will my sway bar end links be long enough then?? and another question, i currently have some Skyjacker hydro 7000s and i really like em, when i ordered them, i chose the shocks for 1-3 inches of lift in the front and rear, so will these shocks be long enough for the new full leaf packs inthe rear, since i know it will prolly sit up higher than 3 Inches

Yup, use that labour cash for tools and do it yourself. get an FSM, learn your rig and have some fun. Warning; highly addictive. Take it slow and remember...built, not bought.

Make some homebrew ones for now. http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/
has numerous excellent writeups to help save money. Your shocks will be fine, if not tune with bumpstops. I know it's exciting and you want answers to everything all at once, but make list of questions, search for your answers, then as you progress or have problems ask the forums for help. Have fun.

that to lift my 88 cherokee 3 inches. i would need 3" coils of coarse, 3" leaf springs, NEW Sway bar endlinks, New Lower Control Arms, A t-Case drop, and would might wanna think about doin the driveshaft and SYE. and i was thinking " at 3 inches??!!" is this right? i doubt the driveshaft and sye part of it is right, but was wondering about the LCA's and Sway bar endlinks and the t-case drop

He IS almost right.
- He forgot the rear brake line.
- You might want disconnects instead of endlinks
- You do not need a t-case drop, if you do driveshaft and SYE. T-case is much cheaper, but whether you have vibrations or not you will know only after you put on your lift and t-case drop.

If you are on a tight budget, plan for the worst. And do not forget to include wheel alignment in your calculations.
