Any semi-auto/auto weapon should be banned. All you need is single actions, 1 shot and reload....even revolvers are nothing but killing machines.

Do not buy a new bushmaster, they're horrible. Absolutely not worth the money. The old ones are much better.

Its not a kit,I bought the receiver from Zimmerman Arms,the bolt came from Kidd,the barrel is from Tactical Solutions.

That sounds like an Expensive toy. Yet I feel that I MUST have one now. I want a suppressed receiver for my MKIII too though.

I am still unpacking from this PCS move. Got my gun/reloading bench setup, but most of my shop stuff is still packed up. When I get the garage setup I am gonna do an AK reciever. It looks like some good fun.

I have had a great time with my current project gun. 1934 hex Mosin Nagant. It lives in a boyds stock and I spent a lot of dremel time on the action and trigger. Scope mount and bent bolt are supposed to be here friday.

Homebuilt Ak's are fun. I *gasp* welded mine, it's still holding up after 2K rounds. It's never jammed or failed in those 2K rounds either, even when doing mag dumps until the handguards smoked

I'm highly contemplating one of those for my new M39. The Fins built one helluva rifle from an old Mosin receiver and with some glass I think it's capable of sub-moa numbers. What did yo uthink of the Boy'ds stock? My M39 wood is pretty and I'm not sure I want to cut it up to clear the bent bolt and scope mount.

Right now I'm working on hot 9mm loads for dad's subgun, like 1600 FPS with 125gr bullets. I got to 1300 FPS with bullseye before pressure became and issue, so now I'm switching to blue dot and small rifle primers for the slower burn.

For those building tacticool .22 rifles, why not just get a .22 conversion kit for your AR?

I am using that mount. I also went and ordered the pillars and hex screws, and the bent bolt body. I think that mount will be awesome. I think it could easily be a MOA gun with just a little work. It easily shoots minute of felon as is.

I love it. They don't sell a 98% stock anymore, just the complete one. I was able to squeeze my 91/30 in for a trial and it is very comfortable. Now I need to pull it and open it up a shade to steel bed it in. I went with the thumbhole stock and am really happy with it. Got a nice Montana Sling for it too.

At this point I have only spent about 4 times as much as the rifle itself. But it is more fun to build up a sporter IMO. Especially one that shoots cheap ammo

.22 conversion kits can be pretty finicky. I would get a full .22 upper instead. But for that price you can just get a 10/22

I agree with you on the conversion kits, however I would not use a 10/22 and practice with something completely different than what I fight with.

Enter the S&W M&P 15-22.

Which brings us back to reloading. I shoot a lot of .223 now that I can reload cheaper.

the 15-22 is a nice piece though. Probably the best tactical .22 out there.
