is this a good buy? d30 + front lift

hey guys. bent a lower control arm mount pretty bad and the ring an pinion are starting to hum.. so i found a axle with 80,000 miles same year, same ratio, with the front part of the 6" skyjacker rock ready kit attached for 300$ owner says it has minor cracking around the trac bar mount and passenger coil mount, should be easy to weld and gusset.......sound like a good deal? going to pick it up friday night.

I say find a stock d30 and build it. Only reason I'd might buy a one that has been beat would be if it had cromo axles or gearing/locker if I was ready to upgrade. $100 would get you a axle if you shop.

true. but im sittin at 3.5 lift now and with the skyjacker kit i can bump it up to 5"-6"... and ive been looking for a stock not beat up d30 but the cheapest i can find is 250 which is a little high in my opinion.

When you say "same ratio", does that mean you have regeared and the new axle matches that, or you are on stock gears and it is a stock geared 30?

What is the "front part" of the Skyjacker kit? Arms, arms and subframe, coils, trackbar, all of the above?

Disconnect housing or non-disconnect?

If it is a regeared axle plus the arms and subframe and coils for $300, that is a good deal.

If it is a stock axle like you could get from Pick and Pull for $100, well....

pick n pull sells front axles for 284$ plus tax adn fees
rear ends are 160$

so when you say front part do you mean:
ucas and lcas
the x member with all the stuff for the mid arms
coils
discos
shocks
trackbar?
if it comes with all of this stuff it is a great deal

same ?? as with phil : stock or deep gears?
its a huge difference if not stock gearing, shoot, thatd be a steal if it had 4.88s

you cant really ask us if something is a good buy and not give a full parts list.

stock 3.55s 2001 cherokee d30. yes low pinion. i dont plan on regearing till i swap some bigger axles in...plus im only on 31's.

comes with trac bar, subframe, crossmember, control arms with newer johnny joints, steering, trac bar drop bracket. i have some 5" coils i am going to use. i have shocks but are made for a 4.5 lift so i plan on doing the bar pin elim to give me a half inch. i dont plan on running sways, i never hit the highway and from what ive heard this lift runs stiff. im going to pick up some adjustable rear shackles to match up the front, my 3.5 rubi leaves still sit high around a 4" easy.
