Is NAXJA sponsoring any Jeepspeeds

They don't "support" NAXJA through the Vendor program. They pay for a service, advertising. That isn't a one sided deal, its not like they get nothing back. They give parts in exchange for advertising. Membership money would pay for a contingency program, it would have zero ties to the National Sponsorship program.

I think in the overall picture that most of the vendors do "support" Naxja by offering discounts to members, wich is an incentive to join and by donating product to different NAXJA event raffles ect.

Its not a donation, people have been using the wrong term. They advertise with us, they pay us with product, and thats what you see show up at your events. If they paid cash for advertising, instead of paying with physical product, would you still call it a "donation"? It's a business, not charity.

I guess anything above and beyond the required retail dollar figure would be considered a donation to or supporting of Naxja. Which I know first hand happens often.

Just so you all know, this is being talked about in the National BOD forum.
I like the concept, but we need to iron out some details.
Personally I would not support any program (contingency) that paid money to non NAXJA members. But if we offer enough of an incentive ($) for every team to join NAXJA, wouldn't that be a 'win/win' deal?
;)

You know my opinion on this.

For those that weren't out at the Jambo, we broke the cardinal rule and discussed NAXJA Jeepspeed business  I think a $200 contingency per race, would easily offset the $35 per year it costs to be a member.

$250 Contingency per race.... in order to win, Driver of Record must be a paying NAXJA member, running a sticker clearly visible on each side of the vehicle, and must post a race report after the race.

The race report would make sure that its circulating back on to the forums, and hence getting visibility to other people!!......Would be awesome I think.

Now you guys are getting the idea!
Hash this out, and get a proposal written up soon.
Like I say all the time, 'I'm only one vote' but.... there is at least some interest in this program.

Make it palatable for the non west coasters.

Here he is on Dan Vance's Toyota:

dan vance is the man. he can drive! and hes a fairly nice fellow aswell...

So....nothing from you guys?
No proposals?
I wouldn't expect the BOD to come up with it for you.

If you guys think this is something you want, you need to put something together for the BOD to review. Even if you only have a plan for your team, go ahead and make a proposal to the BOD..

We like this as our official proposal......$300 Contingency per race. $200 to 1st Place and $100 to last finisher. In order to win, Driver of Record must be a paying :NAXJA: member, running a sticker clearly visible on each side of the vehicle, and must post a race report after the race. NAXJA can have a representative at our race day contingency booth to get memberships and post details on our forum. Jeepspeed can put your membership application forms in our race day Driver Info Package. We will ensure cars carry visible decals supplied by NAXJA , and send you results. Thank you for your interest.... Clive Skilton. Jeepspeed Pres.

I like that.

Just out of curiosity, How many JS races are there in a season and where do they happen. Is this all a western states thing?

I'm only asking because we may find it difficult to convince they members in the other 45 states if they never have seen a race?

Usually 5 races and yes on the west coast (Nevada, Arizona, California).

I think another benefit would be the wealth of information that could come from these experienced JeepSpeeder in the tech forums.

Great proposal.... I would vote HELL YEAH on this. Think about it.... if the 1st place finisher isnt holding NAXJA badges..... no payout!
