Is anyone here STILL a Metallica fan?

I'm with ya Mike It seems that all the decent bands endd up producing the alubms once they make it big. Like def lepoard Thier erly stuff and Hystaria was good rock and roll everything else has sucked. Ther are alot of the same things happening with all the bands. about the only 2 bands I've heard keep to thier roots are Great White and Tesla they still make good music. No thier not anywhere near as big or hard as Metalica but if you like what they got then there will be more where it came from.

Hey I'm with ya too Mike, I dont even buy cds anymore just because of that reason.Spend good money for crap, not anymore.
I just listen to the radio.

Who says that? I say that!

whoa! i had no idea i was surrounded by metal heads...excellent! load was the beginning of the end, as far as i'm concerned. i'm actually going to see them on august 9th at the la coliseum, but this thread has me worried.

i don't know if any of you are familiar with "suicidal tendencies", but i think thats where they got they're new bass player from. "suicidal" was good, but it may have been his influence which caused "st. anger" to be a no-solo, punk-drum album:( the only good left in the band is het's vocals.

master of puppets...the best metallica album by far.

by the way, did any body see that mtv icon nonsense. oh god.

they did get their bass player from Suicidal, however you have to blame the no solo kettle drumming on producer Bob Rock, who came along during the Black album period (the decline) and hasn't been asked to leave.

I am sorry I saw the icon as well.

I don't like much of anything Metallica has done since the Black Album, but I think St. Anger is absolutely ridiculous. It's hands down the worst guitar and drum tone I've ever heard. It's almost like they were trying to make the worst album they could. My theory is that these guys are like Samson from the Bible. Seems like they lost their magic after they cut their hair. ;)

I never quite thought of it that way,but by golly! I think you're on to something there! It's so simple-yet so obvious

P.S.-At least Kirk Hammett's hair is long again!:D

I am a fan of the old stuff. Load sucked, and never gave any album after that a chance. Going to see them on August 7th with Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne, and Deftones, on the Summer Sanitarium tour. Should be pretty good.

Yeah,I figured "Hell,I'm going bald anyway, might as well just do it my way!" The only drawback is that I have this big ole ugly scar on my head from an auto accident when I was a kid and in a time when seatbelts were for wusses. Cool part is that it can be intimidating to others :scared: :D

go get the latest Ramstein Album... it will be money better spent...
I have every metallica cd except st. anger... i downloaded it and deleted it...

my favorite album was Ride the lightning

favorite song is "One" with "Nothing else matters" as a close second
