hey guys, the names hunter, and i very recently came into possession of a 1990 cherokee pioneer with the 4.0 and 4x4. i've finally got my street car the way i want, and my goal for the jeep is to turn it into a hunting rig. right now it's sitting in my garage covered in paint stripper being taken down to stainless. i have plans for a drab green paintjob with black door handles, hinges and rocker panels. i also have plans to lift it 2-3 inches to fit some bigger tires under there (30x9.5). the engine itself seems fairly sound now after some advice i got on here browsing as a guest (lifter tick/marvel's mystery oil).

anyways, thanks for letting me join, and expect to hear a bit from me in the coming weeks. any advice you guys could give me would be awesome.

gotta go strip some paint, i'll be back in a while

First of all Welcome.
Some advice I would like to offer is: Go RED, sell that stainless jeep to a museum, (cause it is the only one of its kind) and pics or it didn't happen.:rof:

why did you strip the paint? It would probably have been easier to just sand the clearcoat off(prone to flaking) and then go strait to your primer. Especially for a hunting rig.

honestly, i'm just bored. ive got several cans of spray stripper already , so it's easy as hell, paint just falls off pretty much. ive sanded down cars before and its a pain. want a nice, flat, clean paint job, so hopefully it'll turn out pretty nice

yea, it will just be a little more work when you go to paint it. Usually unless the old paint it just horrible, give it a light sanding and it makes a great base.
