Way cool.

If I had the money (and time, and place to work) I'd buy an Eagle SX-4 hatchback my friend has sitting in his yard, slap in a Dana 30 solid front axle and a real transfer case, and have my very own Jeegle SX-4.

Be sure your friend uses something out of an XJ or MJ so we can find some excuse to let him join NAXJA.

the plan is:

258 or 4.0L stroker (renix XJ ECU and wiring)/aw4/242 + the axles, wheels and tires that are under the MJ right now.

Mike was originally lookin at an SX4, but it was in really bad shape, and the dude wanted too much for it.

Be afraid.... be VERY afraid.... HEY !!!! when you start working on it I saw some cool adjustable coil spring spacers in the FOR SALE forum last week....

Yet you criticize those with chopped rigs stating that they are no longer XJ's?

very kewl. my best friend has a black sx4 (and a blue one too) but the balck one should be getting the axles and xfer case from my 86 paarts GWag. =)

Nice work!

Don't you mean Jugly.
Nope, that's too close to 'Juggie' and that's Man Show material there...whole different class from that AMC beastie. :puke:

The precedent has been set. If WonTon's "thing" and the Beezil-mobile are XJs, a former Eagle wagon with a cigar lighter from an XJ is also an XJ.

Get with the program. Change is good. (I saw someone write that somewhere.) :wave1:

I assume you means Grand Wagoneer, not Mercedes Gelandewagen?

You forgot,"Plus it has my name, and I'm biased, so he can join."

The cigar lighter out of my XJ is now in my TJ.

So you now have a TXJ. JnJ should be pleased.

It was never intended to be a Jeep, or to do serious off-roading. It was intended to be an AWD passenger car, and at that it was very successful. It has a 258 cubic inch I-6 (4.2L), the same engine that was used in the Wrangler until 1991, but the transfer case doesn't have a low range and the front axle is IFS.

But with some judicious infusion of XJ and other Jeep components, it could be a unique and very capable machine.

WTF is that thing. A failed attempt of Jeep Car. I think they realized it was a bad idea. But it looks like it will be cool once he's done with it. Jeegle lol.

I wouldn't mind having one of those. Make a rally race vehicle out of it and it should perform sweeeeeet.
