Intro - Big Brown

honestly I havent checked yet to see if the rear sway bar is removed (I am assuming I should pull this?)

yes, remove & discard the rear sway bar assembly if you have one.

Yeah, x-whatever on the swaybar disconnect. Don't bother with buying JKS discos with a short lift. Just keep them disconnected and find a used set for when you go with a taller lift and tires. Keep the sway bar, but toss the end links for now.

I also agree with the protection-aplenty. Rocker protection, TC and fuel skid, and recovery points are a must have. Maybe find a front winch bumper to add capability.

For your D35, I suggest not locking it, but driving the crap out of it until it breaks. Lock the front first and locate a D44 or Chy8.25 (29 spline) for the rear and have it locked and ready to install for the eventual D35 breakage.

Just some ideas. Love the rig. Looks good, man.

Well went out to Pismo last weekend, had a great time.

About 2 min in, got a little too comfortable and went flying over a sudden dropoff of about 15 ft, and crashed pretty hard.

Pretty much just a blown front left shock, and alignment is off a bit now lol. Luckily was able to limp throughout the weekend.

Anyone have suggestions on where to get a Rancho shock new/used.

Also, my sway bar bushings look angry, so need to either get new bushings or quick disconnects...looking into just getting the quick disconnects now.

My thoughts on Pismo:
-As I mentioned before I have been to Glamis and honestly this was nothing like it. I could see Pismo Dunes being more fun for ATVs and what have you, but there are just a ton of crazy angles and sudden drop offs out there. Where are the bowls?

Glamis is awesome in that there are large sweeping bowls, one after the other. Really fun to ride those going pretty fast, transitioning from one to the next.

Maybe I just missed them....anyone have thoughts as to where there are bowls out there? I"ll post pics when I get a chance

Check all of your control arm and mounts. A crash like that can do a lot of damage to the suspension components. Might be why your alignments off too
