Installing new Brown Dog Motor Mounts

bringing this up from way back when but i just ordered mine and didn't think to have to grind anything or remove and oil filter adapter.

You don't have to grind anything.

As for the oil adapter...just depends on the year.
 
This is an old thread. The grinding issue was put to rest way back when they came out with their XJ Specific motor mounts. If you're keeping your stock brackets, you order the "XJ mounts", if you're upgrading to Brown Dog's brackets, then you just get the "Original" mounts.

Then you will need to pull the adapter. Mine was leaking oil badly so I did both jobs at the same time.
 
I just cut the bolt and push it through the other side on the renix 4.0's and replace it with a new one facing the right way lol


I just did the same, cut the bolt with the angle grinder, clearance was close. I cut part way through the bolt turned it and cut the other half. Use an old license plate to protect your distributor wiring.
