inside tire carrier

Well Im gunna be taking my truck up to college with me after all (long story).

I needed something to carry a full size spare, and I needed it o be cheap.

I decided on a trophy truck style carrier for the interior.

I went to my local HD a picked up some (20 feet) 1 1/4 inch steel tubing and a piece of 3/16 plate steel (3 feet)

friend and myself starting the construction yesterday and we are almost done.

Ill post a few pictures prolly tomorrow since the carrier is at his house.

This is what I did on the last jeep. 2" x .25 squared tubing, then I made a tab and used the stock hardware to hold it in place. I could fit my 35 in there.

Your Home Depot has tubing? Lucky you. Mine only has pipe.

I tied mine in to the cage. For a 35" tire you have to start laying the tire down a bit.

The far side of it looks like the hoop to a roll bar and it extends down the same way just a little wider.

But like trapper I stood my 35 upright. Took up less space and fit in just fine
