Improve your shackle angle

Best product to use instead of PB Blaster is Aerokroil, its expensive $20 a can, found at Fastenal. That stuff is awesome, only thing I use at work and home. Replaced exhaust manifold on a 80 F-100, sprayed that stuff on all of the stud's and the gasket flange bolt and they all broke loose easily, looked like they would break first.

How long did you have to let it sit after spraying? Does it come in an aerosol can or what?

Is this the stuff?

It's $10.75 for a 10oz can.

Aero Kroil > PB Blaster.

I have heard it does what PB does in a week, in 15 minutes.....

It does. I used it on my u-joint's clips on top of the caps. They were all seized and would just snap and break when I tried to extract them. I sprayed AK on the last clip just for the hell of it and waited 20 minutes. The clip came out VERY easily, like it was just put in there. Of course when I tried to put it back in it snapped in pieces. I also used it on my tie rod clamps. The passenger clamp bolt snapped from major rust and the driver's side was the same so I sprayed it down, waited 20 min, and it came right off like butta!

I love that shi$. :kissyou:

it smells really bad though...

Really? I think it smells better than PB, but I've probably used more than most ppl. I use it every day.

Perhaps that everyday usage is rotting your sense of smell. :gag: LOL

Looks like you go through alot of cans. Where do you buy your stuff at? I got mine on amazon.

Oh Lord, I found people outside of work that use kroil.
It is an excellent product for this application.
There are a few guys at work that think kroil is the "cure all" for anything.
We really like making fun of them.

Stuck bolt? kroil it!!!
Tools rusted up? kroil it!!!
Gettin your hair done for a date? kroil it!!!
Got the clap? kroil it!!!

PB smells BAD. I get headaches instantly
Someone tossed some stuff in the cargo area and didn't see the new can standing in the middle of a roll of gorilla tape.
Took me a few minutes to figure out what the hissing noise was, by that time most of the can was gone and soaking into my speaker box:flamemad:
Took months for the smell to go away.

I get mine from Fastenal as stated earlier. Go through alot at work, use the big cans 16.5 oz. You can buy directly from the manufacturer but I think you have to buy it by the case. kanolabs.com

Actually have a can right here on my pc desk. Its Silikroil, use it probably more than Aerokroil. Same thing as aerokroil but has silicone.

Not to drag up an old thread, but I just called my local Fastenal, and the guy had never heard of it. I also checked their site and no mention of this. I'd really like to do some wrenching on my XJ this weekend, and don't want to wait around to order the stuff.

If you know someone who works in industrial maintenance, see if they have it in their tool cribs- that was the only way I could get any locally.

Also, try ATF or PS fluid and acetone, mixed 1:1

I've seen this on a number of forums, but can't find the original.
The April/May 2007 edition of Machinist's Workshop did a test of penetrating oils where they measured the force required to loosen rusty test devices. Buy the issue if you want to see how they did the test. The results reported were interesting. The lower the number of pounds the better. Mighty interesting results for simple acetone and tranny fluid!

Penetrating oil . Average load .. Price per fluid ounce
None ................. 516 pounds .
WD-40 .............. 238 pounds .. $0.25
PB Blaster ......... 214 pounds .. $0.35
Liquid Wrench ... 127 pounds .. $0.21
Kano Kroil ........ 106 pounds .. $0.75
ATF-Acetone mix.. 53 pounds .. $0.10

The ATF-Acetone mix was a 50/50 mix (1 to 1 ratio)."

It reeks, but it does seem to work pretty well.

Hey, check this out. http://www.kanolabs.com/google/ Cheap Kroil.
