Improve your shackle angle

question... when i more than likely break out my upper shackle mount bolt caused by rust can i use the 3 bolts on the hitch bolts plus welding it down to complete this mod? or should i hammer out the original nut, weld a nut to the outside of the box and still run a bolt thru the original hole? im interested in this product as well!

The only reason you should use that bolt is for alignement, so if you can get it aligned good enough I say by all means weld it.

alright, and im just figuring my bolt will break only because my xj originally came from michigan then shipped to san diego ca... then i got it after all the years of salt got to it first, so far with this xj i've broken almost every bolt i could with my 1/2" drive breaker bar lol no warnings just a grunt from me and a snap from the bolt, even after i've applied tons of pb blaster...

I also have the relocation bracket and it is great. The only problem i have is that my shackle keeps on hitting the bracket when i am flexing. I have set my shackle at a 45 degree angle. What can i do about that. I can reset my shackle but than my rear is too high in comparison with the front off my cherokee xj

A shorter shackle may help. That seems pretty long, or it's just the picture.

I've got these brackets, with a 14 bolt rear 5.38 gears, big offroad springs and jks 1" lift shackle if I set my angle to 45 degrees the shackle bottoms out all of the time. I have cut away alot of the bracket but it still hits. If I hold the brakes down and give it throttle in reverse I can set the rear down on the shackles. Do I need a traction bar?

Coilovers? Sweet! do you sell a kit for those?
Would totally impress chicks at the mall, that and the chrome cover on my 35...

Guys!!!! im so freaking excited!!! i have been spraying my shackle bolts with pb blaster for the last few weeks in hopes the bolt wouldnt break and it didnt!! i got it all the way unbolted on one side.and the passenger side has a very minor problem of the bolt wont come out past the shackle sleeve, its like it unbolts 100% easy then the last of the threads hit the sleeve in the shackle and freezes up, ill fix that by cutting it free and putting a new bolt in there ;) im ok with that, i put some anti sieze on it for now but im so happy it didnt break, now time to work the pb magic on the front ones!! sorry im just so excited about it not giving me crap :)

Best product to use instead of PB Blaster is Aerokroil, its expensive $20 a can, found at Fastenal. That stuff is awesome, only thing I use at work and home. Replaced exhaust manifold on a 80 F-100, sprayed that stuff on all of the stud's and the gasket flange bolt and they all broke loose easily, looked like they would break first.
