Improve your shackle angle

I got mine today and I am starting to look at putting these on. First off I got a bad shackle angle right now. My shackle angle right now is about 80* I am going to set it at about 45* I am wondering how much lift I am going to lose by doing this. I am trying to eliminate my blocks or at least get down to a 1 inch block. I have very long shackles I will try to get some flex pix up when I get it done.

when did you order them?

Does anyone know how these work with the revolver shackles. I am looking into getting the RE 4.5 kit that has the 3.5 inch springs with the longer shackle.

I also wanted to get the revolver shackles but I would lose the lift attained with the extended shackles.

I am thinking I could regain some of the lift with this setup. But with the revolvers how important is shackle angle since it is not a fixed shackle. How would you go about setting that particular combination up.

And finally are the revolvers even worth the investment. because theoretically I would need the revolvers and some method of getting my lift back. Or do you think these brackets with the extended shackle would provide plenty of flex.

I would appreciate any input.....

You're better off welding your axle housing directly to your frame than you are to run revolvers.

Having your rear suspension unload on you when you're facing downhill or off camber doesn't sound like a great benefit, and having your axle droop out unsprung with only the weigh to the housing for traction doesn't do much for you either - except of course let your tires get hung up on things.

Get a locker and let your rear tires hang in the air a bit when necessary.

Use them in partnership with a 1-1.5" lift shackle. I'd bet you'd end up keeping around the same lift height.

A slightly longer shackle like that will give a little more swing for droop and compression too.

got these on recently, and wow!
well worth the coin IMO.
i had 6.5" leaf springs, and stock shackles.
the angle was total junk, and rode like crap.
i now have 4" alcan springs, 1.5" re boomerangs, and the relocation box. the ride was better before the springs, just with the relocation. but now it is amazing! i gained @1" of lift with the shackle box, but the main advantage is the adjustability of the shackle angle.
excellent product, great price.

I ordered these and are waiting for them to arrive.....Hopefully I can eventually change from my 3.5" RE springs with a 1.5" boomerangs to an Old Man Emu leaf pack with the 1.5" shackles and get about the same amount of lift but better ride!

Got these but have not installed them yet.. I had to make a few modifications, one extra hole in the factory hitch (for the center mounting bolt to go through the hitch) and drilled an addtional hole for the rear-most hitch mounting bolt.

installed! results are amazing, crazy flex now, and a smooth ass ride! gonna have to get another set for the other.

How much lift over the previous set up are people getting???? (before boxes then after) Also, are there any interference problems with the boomerang shackles???

About an inch or a little more, but if you angle your shackles as they should be with this set up then really only about 3/4"

I found that even though the stock shackles will work with this set-up, a 1" to 1.5" lift shackle is better.

Straight shackles!

They look like they are hitting at the angle in the pic but they are not, they travel without hitting the bracket until my bump stops hit(springs are flat when hitting BS)

Ride is smooth and talk about droop!

xjtrailrider,

About how much extra lift (if any) did you get when using the TeraFlex 1.5 shackles?
