Important

This weekend the Jeep gods are pissed at me
Ac compressor bearing going bad on my 97
Bad cam pos sensor on wifes 2000
blown up power steering hose on 98

grrr.

Well....Still in St. Louis....WTF is up with AmerenUE? It's called "tree trimming", that way the power don't go out for 4+ freaking days! I guess I am spoiled...I thought CE was bad, darn these guys make Edison look like heros. On a better note, just finished a 10oz filet at Annie Gunn's, followed with a fine cigar....ahhhhhh. Not quite as good as the company last night...but close....of course there was no demo derby afterwords tonight. :D

at least they're not butchering trees. Ohio Edison didn't trim anything until we had a large winter storm. After they got it all restored they just hacked up trees. Sad to see all the old growth trees killed by improper trimming.
Now I got a stump in my front yard, so does my neighbor

After sitting here for 3 days now....I don't give 2 craps about the trees. This is the second year in a row for this....massive storm...followed by massive outages that go on for days. Last year they said "Oh...we need to be more proavctive on our maintance" now here we are again.

Don't get me wrong...it was a hell of a storm, but there should not be the outages that there are, in a city this size.

Rev ... do you have work to do there and have to stay until the power is restored? Just wonderin' why you're still hangin' out there ...

Well...I had to BE there...nothing really for me to do. The power came back on at 10:30 last night....got home at 3:30 this morning, getting ready to leave for Austin, MN at 2 this afternoon.

I can understand that feeling. I don't mind that they cut the trees, but here they quite literally were just cutting one half of the tree off because it was quick and easy. Left nasty half cut branches. Just over all looked like a 12 year old had been given a chainsaw.
It makes you angry when they just kill the tree in your front yard. Not to mention that they left it will all of it's weight toward the house. If you're going to butcher it then cut it down, not make it a hazard waiting to fall into my living room.

'Remote' from 'Home'

interesting to come back to what you were certain was home... only to find it completely different...

in other news - I am looking hard at parking my jeep for the next two years and agressivly webwheeling while affording to finish school... and buying a shitbox commuter car to get me around... not even wheeling because I cant afford to fix broken junk...

maybe a honda is in my future...

or maybe I'll sell my junk, buy a reliable diesel truck, and drive that for two years, then when i get a full time job... buy a zuki and build it?

regardless - I cant safely, legally drive my junk on the street for too much longer...

Anyone know Rick Normans NAXJA handle? I want to ask him some questions on the fitment of the rock sliders he got from Kevins Offroad.
He prefers to remain anonymous.

Yeah, well, if you think that was some poor driving, you should see my MJ after exploring RORP on Sunday. CarnageFest is gonna be a real sheetmetal masher if you aren't careful.
