I added a 3rd electrical fan last night.
Same issue with mine, just make a new bracket that bolts into the same location but move the lower end forward an inch or two.XJ_ranger said:except, there is a clearance issue with the RE bracket and my Front Dana 44 bridge...

That happened to my 99, on the way home from Midway.Dirt said:My AC compressor locked up Tuesday. I've been driving the neighbors car to work. Waiting on UPS to drop off my new one.

I noticed oil and schrapnel exiting the compressor around the clutch.
that is the bad thing about those serp. belts...

You should look into just getting the idler pulley bracket from an earlier 4.0 I don't know how much different the mounts are between the newer 4.0's an mine, but my 87 just has a bracket and an idler. I can take pics and measurements if you're seriously considering getting rid of the ac.Dirt said:Yeah mine's doing the, well, was doing the same thing. Too bad they didn't make a non AC option. The pulleys are all messed up too. I don't know if I could shorten the belt and still get my components to all work. - the AC of course.
yeah, that's what I kinda figured, that's why I asked if you were serious about deleting it permanently. I wish I had AC.Dirt said:I just meant for a quick fix so I could still drive it while the compressor is down.
