Important

The jeep that I had before the one I have now, I had for over 10 years. It went through a lot of high and low points in my life and the one thing that I always knew about being in that jeep is that it was a good place for me. So I named it " Out of Misery ".

Which is why my current Jeep is Out of Misery 2.

Hmm I've been trying to get a name for mine for a while. Tree hugger maybe? Ive actually backed into trees 3 times on the same spot as I did at redbird. That would look weird on the windshield though

I don't know what these two janitors itor did wrong but someone has them out here sweeping the lawn.

Who sells a good rod ends? I bought the Ruff stuff rod ends originally. They only lasted 4 trips and maybe 2000 road miles. They started out great but now i have an awful noise when driving and when i saw the wheel i can see the ball moving in the end of the joint.

Ball joints wheel bearings are all new i replaced them all to eliminate those as an issue. Also both axle and frame mounts are welded solid. No movement other than the joint play.

replacements from Ruff stuff are only 20 dollars but I am not going to keep replacing them if i can spend a bit more and not worry about them.

opinions?

QA1 rod end are what I ran for my set up, they were good. Check w hobag, he can hook ya up on stuff from Barnes.

What size joint? I've been unfriendly to the RS 1.25 heims on the front of the buggy(heavy 40s/1tons) with no issue but the 3/4 heim for the track bar has a little play and they are all less then 2 years old. What Im getting at it maybe more to do with the size then the joint manufacture, also not saying RS joints are the bestendallbeallcause they are cheap. I have QA1s sitting on the shelf as backups.

That's a really good point to consider. I've had Ruff Stuff rod ends on my jeep for 5 years. I don't do road miles, but it's got Harlan a couple times, Winterfest, Moab, etc on them and they're fine.

Maybe you're asking a smaller joint to do something that a bigger joint should be doing. If you call Ruff Stuff and tell them that the joint has failed in such a short time, you might be surprised at what they're willing to do for you.

This is the kit i ordered. 7/8" thread and i thought 3/4" bore but the site is saying 9/16". Which was to me more than enough for a track bar on a dana 30 on 31s. I want to make sure its solid before going 35s.

I called them. They said send a video of the play and they will help me out.

I think having rod ends with all welded mounts to the stiff frame makes it sound so much worse but it lets you know when you have a problem.

I ran tractor links for lower control arms...

mac 'seriously...while most of you were still in grade school' gyvr

Doesn't look like there are any pinch seam mounts, may want to look into that or adding some.

Happy birthday to me, a lady stopped at a stop sign but didn't see me. I couldn't stop in time. Maybe 5,000 plus in damage will finish it off and I can get a jeep again. I know but Ian, "that one time at band camp."
