You know what's hilarious...Hearing from your old neighbor in NY that the police busted into your house with guns drawn and arrested the tenant living in your house. According to local police scanners, it was a domestic call...fml

Just got off the phone with the local police. Sounds like it was a domestic call and the girl involved let the police in...The cop also accosted me and told me I should know who my tenants are...seriously didn't need a lecture. We used a property manager so we didn't have to know who the tenants were, however, it turns out this guy is not a first time offender and that our property manager didn't do a good job checking up on him. This is going to be a good time...looks like we need new tenants and a new property manager.

I am waiting for a copy of the lease...I believe that only his name is on it not the girls. If it's his, and he doesn't come up with the rent this month and is absent cause he is in jail or if he committed a crime while in the house, both are grounds for eviction...I don't really want to spend my holiday time in NY getting someone else's crap out of our house...

If the girl's name is on the lease then she is protected by law and can't be evicted...But I also don't think she can afford the rent. I'm hoping she willingly moves out to get away from him and we can just evict his ass.

If your lease is written right you can have the locks changed before he is out on bail.

We are talking with a lawyer friend locally...Best case at this point is that he stays locked up and can't make rent and she moves out voluntarily. Then we can change the locks and get his stuff out...Wish she would have just lit him on fire and burned the house down at this point. Would probably be less of a headache

Yeah that will probably be the route we have to go. I still have stuff stashed in the garage loft that I need to get...Not really stuff that is too important. Just a couple of Jeep parts that I don't really need.

I have hauled a shit ton of crap to the dump I have cleaned out of rentals.
Of the crap I have cleaned out I currently have a sound bar I play my phone through in the shop, a Dish Hopper and two Joeys that can not be reactivated, a 100 pound propane tank that is going out to my cabin and a few brooms and shovels.
I have given away washers, dryers, pool tables, microwaves, sofas, dishes, pots and pans, and I have donated tons of kids clothes and winter clothes to the Salvation Army.
I have hauled probably 5 tons of crap to the landfill.
I am amazed at the stuff people leave behind.
After the 30 day holding period, I set the stuff in the driveway and the locals come like flies to shit and haul away the stuff I don't have a use for.

Oh and tube TVs 100s of tube TVs, any one want one?
They are fun to shoot.
