Important

I have ran Tekonsha, Draw-Tite and Hopkins, and got along great with all of them. The Tekonsha is probably the better of them, but a bit pricier too. This Dodge I picked up has a cheapy in it, and I plan on running it until it does not work any longer. I kind of feel that they fall into two categories, those that work, and those that do not.

Yea the one I have in the ex went crazy on way down to WF. Locked up brakes on trailer going down the road. Want to put a decent one in the truck.

tekonsha FTW.

edit:
whatever you get make sure it's inertial and not timer.
hopkins makes an inertial one that I've used and it's not terrible.
Make sure it's capable of putting out enough amps for all your brakes if you have more than one axle with brakes.

What does everyone run as far as front brakes on their XJ? My pads and rotors have 20k on em and feel worn as hell, time to swap em out for new (but not expensive) hardware.

I just use what Autozone has. I haven't paid for brake pads in five years as I got the lifetime replacement (which includes wear and tear with mine) and middle of hte line rotors (that way I just replace them instead of turning them). Since i don't DD my XJ anymore, I don't have to do it about every 18 months like I used to.

I just pissed off all the smokers at work, told them they have until tomorrow to get all the butts picked up. If not we will become smoke free. I don't mind picking up random trash but cigarette butts piss me off for some reason. They are all around the trash just not making it all the way or they are in the grass and along the sidewalk.

Grass is dangerous if it is dry out (or in mulch). Glad I never started. Their clothes usually reek of the smoke also.

I run el cheapo pads on the wheelers as they grab better and i dont care if i replace pads every few years. For street i run OE replacements for O'Rileys. And good rotors.

I need to replace the master in the buggy as the 98 ZJdisk/disk master is not up to snuff for the 1/2ton GM calipers on all 4 corners. Too soft of peddle. Hate doing master cylinders.

Need a new brake controller in the EX. Anybody have any good recommendations on one? Don't know if there are better ones out there or if they are all pretty much the same.

Tekonsha P3 and don't look back. I probably have the Ford specific cable for 2 minute install if you want to save a few bucks.

I have the cable off the one in truck now. The p3 was actually one I was looking at this afternoon on Amazon.
