is there a safe way to make my jack stands taller? I have the heavy duty (12 ton maybe?) stands from HF but they just aren't tall enough to pull my axles if I put the stands on my 2x6 rockers. I've seen people make a wood 2x2 or 4x4 platform under the stand to add some height but is that "safe"? if so do I just toss some wood blocks under them or do I need to zip some screws in the blocks so they stay together?
what do I need to do here?

The popcan sat in my garage for almost two years on jack stands that were sitting on concerte blocks. Some people will say that will kill you.

yeah I gotta do stiffeners, cross member, belly pan, and new control arms all at once so that's what mine will be looking like too. I'm just trying to find the best way to do it.

It's in Lieutenant Dan mode. No legs. aka no axles under it. I need to get it higher so my fat self can roll around under it.

Just stack up those tampon boxes you pussy. Use empty beer cans and shattered dreams, it worked fine for me...and look how I turned out.

We have some 4x4 blocks that are about 12-15" long that I have used before without problems. if you take your time and set up it should be just fine.
