Important

The resignation = no access thing would make a hell of a lot more sense to me if he didn't already serve a full term. Just from an outsider looking in, it seems like this was done because they knew it would really bother Dan. Of course the current BOD is going to try to make it out like it's not personal, but again from the outside looking in, it certainly has that vibe to me. Without a doubt he's the reason I chose to be a paid member.

As VP, you don't have the ability to stay, only past presidents, FYI.

The current president felt a strong need to make up ramifications. It would have been a lot easier to simply let it ride. There was no rule, he chose to make a new rule. It wasn't necessary.

I resigned, I was quiet, I wasn't being a problem in any fashion.

I'm not in support of a lawless right to carry or a national right to carry.

There needs to be a process in place to help ensure that the law abiding citizens are the ones that do so legally and that those that aren't are punished for it.

National concealed carry legislation is a violation of the ideals that this country was founded on. No federal law should circumvent state legislation. When it does, we become a lot more of a monarchy than our revolutionary fore fathers would appreciate.

no U.S. citizen should be able to carry without a proper background check and training. we have had a rash of former convicted felons carrying up here. so no new laws are going to fix that. If they want the guns, they will find ways to get them.

I've been curled up in the near fetal position with a nasty cold and flu with stuff coming out both ends the last 36 hours and sorry just not able to keep up with this thread. If you don't believe me, ask my toilets. In fact I went home sick from work and haven't worked any extra part times at all this week. I managed to make it into work tonight and after some winterfest stuff, I'm finally caught up.

The 3 month wait was due in part to several reasons. We didn't have a VP for 2 months. I spent countless hours trying to plan Redbird and the memorial stuff for Flex surrounding that, so I was incredibly busy and put a lot of effort into phone calls and emails planning all that. This decision was not made over night or even over a couple of nights. This was an incredibly hard decision for me, my hardest in club leadership. To ensure that it wasn't a personal vendetta on my part, I talked to past presidents, asking about the past BOD access. There is no bylaw that governs it. No new rules were made up. It ended up being mid-December by the time I had talked with the incoming 2016 BOD, so I let the decision be made by the incoming BOD. I did not persuade them in their decision making. We interpreted the grandfather clause to be that if you did not finish your current term as president, you lose your access. Simply that.

There was no intent to lose friendships, take a away from any work that has been put into the club previously or make anyone feel like they couldn't come to an event over it. Quiet frankly I'd love to clang beers (whiskey mixed drinks in a Styrofoam cup) over the winterfest campfire.

Kman, I'm sorry if you feel slighted because you weren't involved.

Dan, I'm sorry that you are upset.

That said, the BOD made a decision, it's been explained. The last couple days have been time to express concern and vent.

The best part is that there are elections in November, 3 of 5 BOD seats will be up for elections. Any MWC member is good standing with a year of membership is eligible to run, If you want to change things, please run for office.

Winterfest is coming up in just 58 days! The BOD along with other members are in the midst of planning another great event.

We've just announced FREE CAMPING again this year.

Winterfest registration is now live!

Everyone is invited.

PS

My 2000 5.4 F150 pulled my jeep on the trailer well. It wasn't the best for I70 in Colorado, but did make it up all the hills. Never popped a spark plug with it, but did break the manifold bolts off.

Congrats Josh on upcoming retirement.

I'm rarely worried about those with a permit that are carrying a handgun. Those who want a gun will find a way to get one, legal or not.

5.4 is a good engine, the f150 chassis may be a bit light duty for constant towing, but occasionally it'll be fine. One of my fleet customers has an 04. He loves it.

Dan, how are you doing dude? I know how getting burnt out feels. It blows.

Josh, congrats, I remember when I got out. Thanks for your service

Mac, feel better soon.

As far as the BOD goes, I know I'm not red as of now, but many of you know me, and many of you know that I probably will be red again soon. Just have to do it. At any rate, was Dan offered an explanation the day(s) the details of his forum access were nailed down?

Dan, being president I'm sure you were aware of the lack of rules governing said access after a resignation, did you consider starting that conversation?

I'm not trying to be a jack@$& I'm merely pointing out that the whole situation probably could've been handled differently by everyone involved.

As always, its a silly jeep club, cheese is good, glad he's not tounge punching a fartbox, worthless posts for ten years, insert humor here....and any other good sig that fits.

I would like to vote that HoBag-Offroad buys pizza and we watch a 6 way mud wrestling event in the quarry at WF16. Just to settle all this once and for all. Then we can drink duck farts around a bonfire made of 3 ricks of fire wood and two couches.

I realized I haven't posting any pictures here of my daughter yet.

One photo is the first time I got to hold her, the other is with Sarah's parents.

Last one, I haven't got a good night sleep since New Years Eve eve and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
