Unless you really like doing paint and body work.
My '78 was in good shape for around here, but not good enough to paint. By the time I had my buddy weld in cab corners, floors, and some patches on the roof, put on new doors, fenders, bumpers, bed from Texas, and other stuff, with the paint and body work I was probably into it for more than $7500, not counting my time.
Would much rather have just bolted in my built 460 and C6, suspension, tires and updated interior

I know a guy that just finished a 3 year build.......I bet he would tell you about how he wishes he just would of bought a finished truck from down south and saved time n money.
