Important

I graduated 40th out of 80 in high school. I'm not sure what my GPA was but I was an A B C student. I could have cared less about it. My high school only cared about the fooseball team and everybody knows fooseball is the devil. I was a farmhand in high school and parts of college and worked at Advance Auto. I spent all my nights catching catfish. In college I was a straight A student in my Auto classes but squeeked by in the core classes.

There is going to be a huge shortage of Techs out there and it's going to get rough soon. Most collision techs are getting up there in age and most auto techs are too. Diesel techs have been in demand for a few years now.

well i didn't do great on either of my test but i did well all semester so it didn't effect my overall to much. dropped my high B to a low B lol

so far a bunch of stuff i was taught in school has come into play but only to help me understand most of whats going on when its explained to me. no much of "oh i got this" going on with me.

college is interesting because you do a lot of little things once or maybe twice. years later(in my case) when you're asked to do it at your new job, you forgot.
example: we got a new motor in. im asked "you know how to wire this up for high voltage?" i remember that i did it in college. once in class, and once for the midterm but that was 2 years ago and i couldn't remember how. i new where to look for the schematic and when he started telling me it clicked.

id like to think college got me my current job because the guy who interviewed me took the same classes i have. it may have just gotten me in the door but thats all it really needed to do.

not sure if i will stay here forever, but in just 2 months it has given me a crap load of experience. machines that run 24/7 break down a lot. not sure why but all this time in school i didn't image id be fixing as much stuff a day as i do now.
