lets play "have you done it/would you do it"

quick backstory. was at my previous employer for 3 years (first job out of college). hated it for the last 1.5 years and finally left last july. dealt with a lot of customers during that time and built up a good network. got a new job (that i am enjoying so far in the 3ish months i have been here). just got a phone call from a VP at one of my customers from my previous employer that want to talk to me about coming in to be the chief electrical engineer. worked with and at this company numerous times so i know what i would be getting into.

question is: would you look down on someone that only stayed at a place for 3 months? has anyone dealt with a similar issue? would you jump ship that quick if it were a good opportunity? i dont want to burn the bridge with the place im at because i definitely see potential for myself here.

Three months is a pretty short time. But you have to do what is right for you and your family. When it comes down to it you need to be the one to make the final call.

I left the place I was at for 15 years, for 20% and full control of the shop. I am having a good time but it is definitely more stressful.

That's a tough one, I wouldn't switch unless there was a good increase in salary. Three months is a short amount of time and wouldn't look good on the resume, but if you can explain it down the road, I don't see a problem.

moving up to chief engineer is a good explanation, just be sure you are going to like the move. I assume chief engineer would be supervisor to other people? make sure you are ready for everything that goes along with being a supervisor too...

No I would not be in charge of people. They have an engineering manager. I haven't talked numbers yet but will just to see where they are at.

Started my furnace last weekend only to figure out the blower motor was toast and wouldn't push enough air to keep from over heating.

New blower motor in and we are back up and running.

Unless my wife turned it on without me knowing, ours is still turned off. We had it serviced about a month and a half ago so I know it is good. Been using the gas fireplace to heat the living room and keep our bedroom somewhat warm.

Getting a 320 gal propane tank set for the garage furnace. It should cost me 1/3 the money compared to using 100 lb tanks. Kinda excited to simplify a warm garage.

John or Sean or any other carpenter guys. Menarda has a precut piece of granite counter top that's like 8 ft long. can i cut that down with a diamond blade on a regular circular saw? its about an inch thick i believe.

Yeah, I'd run a trickle of water onto it, keeps the dust down and cools

What size piece do you need?
