What's the need/use for the truck Rew? That will make a big difference in its value to ya.

Daily driver. something that can haul crap back from Menards. tow the camper or jeep every once in a while.

im looking to replace the jeep in its DD duty, i want a truck and the wife wants me to get a little car. she is smarter than me but i don't like little cars.

Friend of mine had an f250 with the 5.4 in it and loved it. Had 4.10 gears in it and still got 11-12 mpg towing. I say just use your best judgement on it. If it's gonna work for you and doesn't really need a whole lot of work look into it. All comes down to what you are gonna be using the truck for.

My bet is he never hauled anything with a truck that has power on tap.

My next rig will be a newer diesel (2011+ 6.7)

400 hp and 800 ft lb stock is bad ass. I've towed my jeep with my buddies built duramax and it is nice to drive like those is no trailer back there. Set the cruise at 75 and let er rip tater chip!!

Everybody is gonna say that you need a diesel when your towing your jeep or campers. Yes it makes it easier towing but if you only tow a couple times a year the cost of the diesel normally doesn't outweigh the cost of them. I wish our ex had a diesel in it but am just as happy with the gas guzzling v10

Show me these 25k eccoboost trucks...

mac 'they are sweet...but not cheap' gyvr

^ this.... I have a 5.4 in my Expy. Its more than enough to drag itself around at highway speeds, I have no issues in what hills we have out here. Towing the trailer empty or with the normal Menard's haul you barely notice it. The Jeep or another car, its a noticeable drop off, but its doable. I do have the tow package with 3.73s in mine. It is a huge upgrade over the old F-150 with the 5.0/3.55 and a manual tranny. I wanted an Excursion when I got this, but I couldn't find one in good enough shape to bite or a 7.3 that wasn't as stupid priced as a pickup.

you guys know my thoughts.

buy cheap MDT to tow with, buy car to DD.
end up less than a newer 3/4 diesel truck, have more than enough truck to do anything, still get decent gas mileage daily.

but I'm an odd dude.

could be a sweet camper/tow rig with nothing more than gutting the seats and tossing a futon/recliner in it like the cum bus.

Justin paid more than 25k I know this for a fact

I don't know but I rode from TN to Harlan and home in it and id say its worth it. I think we got fuel once and that's with Justin driving back mountain roads hahaha

How does it do in the hills with the jeep behind it?

Mark Morton (High2by) towed his Jeep to Moab in 2013 with him and Ed and all their stuff in Mark's dad's eccoboost...

It was insane going over I70 west past Denver. It sold me on buying one in the future and probably never even thinking about a diesel pickup again.

mac 'ridiculous power for a v-6' gyvr

I found more than those two too. prices are coming down as they get older I guess. I would love to have one but I'm cheap and poor.

gonna buy one mac?

Wife wants one. We will wait until the kids are in school and she can go back to work and make the payment :)

Hopefully the EX and the 5.9 last that long.

mac 'boost' gyvr

When I bought my truck I couldn't touch a ecoboost for under 30k that had less than 75k on it. I bought my 2013 5.0 with 17k on it for 23k. That 7k savings and the fact its still under warranty will buy me a hell of a lot of gas that will NEVER be made up by the 3-4 gallon mpg difference.

Haha Jason and Wade. Yep I took my new ecoboost wheeling in Harlan. Love it and worth every penny. I didn't pay 50k though.
