Been in Does Moines an hour this morning and Melissa is already talking about how much she misses it. Going to meet with her old employer tomorrow....I have a feeling this topic might come up again. I wouldn't be surprised if her old boss throws a number at her to see if she would consider the move.

Then it went off the rails. The way I read it, they don't want to make it illegal to repair parts like spark plugs, etc., but more flashing the computers to (possibly) work better. Of course, this will be like the drug war, make it illegal, but it will still happen no matter what, just underground.

you don't understand it properly.

this is nothing new, the software industry has been this way for 20 years.

read the EULA for windows sometime. You know that big long legal contract you agreed to without reading it? Yeah, you don't own windows either. For that matter unless it's open source, you don't actually own any of the software on your PC.

All an automaker has to do to effectively lock out every aftermarket diagnostic/tuner/anything is to toss a "click through" agreement on the little LCD infocenter every time you turn the key and it will become a legally binding contract.
Court tested and approved.
Violate the contract and said automaker will pursue you in civil court for gajillions of dollars, no criminal conduct needed, because it's contract law.

Heck of nice rainy day to be remimissing haha. It is a good city/state despite al the wind.

I did a short rocky climb at wf in the wk. it was picking up tires and just locking them out. Barely spun a tire, I was amazed, and that thing you are watching something 10 years newer

Speaking of 1/5's...why is it that when I hang out with my buddy from Canada a 1/5 of bourbon always seems to disappear? Had some frozen margaritas at the mecixan joint then we all went back to my brothers and drank some whiskey . Having a good time in Iowa...
