Got the truck plugged in. Did it just this morning. Also have a salamander heater blowing under it.

Need to get it in for exhaust work.

I never plugged it in, ever.

So I'm not even sure if that works.
The glow plugs work, so it will start in the cold.

exhaust is in good shape with the exception of the flex pipes.
all the crap is there, it needs welded fast.
It was reasonably quiet until I hit 3 feet of standing water at 40 mph to go pick up the goat lovers junk.

It's a light switch...and it's marked something like engine warmer or something...

I assume it's powered off the house batteries and/or genset

block heater would kill batteries with the quickness. Most are 1500W.

That's over 100A at 12V.

The heater does work. I plugged it in the other night and it fired right up.

Too cold for me to lay on the ground and fix the exhaust. Even in the summer I don't like doing exhaust.

I've got a fire built now.

Mine isn't heated, but we still packed the house to keep them from freezing up. And so I didn't have to clean them off.

That is not 100 % true. depends on what state the truck was originally delivered to. Unless it was different for the 7.3's. I was told the same thing about my 6.7 then bought the cord when I went to install it nothing in the block but a plug. After doing research we found out if the truck is delivered to a southern state like Georgia ( like mine) you get nothing in the block.

My truck was originally sold in florida and I bought it in georgia. Location doesn't mean a whole lot.

I know that when I researched it, the 6.0's were known to have the heater installed by international, but ford was charging $75 for the dealer to install the cord. Nate bought the cord for me from the local international dealer for $20 and I hooked it up and ran it to the front of the truck.

Don't know about 7.3's, but I would assume that since they were delivered from international as well, there's a good chance it was the same. Once you start getting to 6.4 and 6.7 land, you're dealing more with ford and they like you to spend money on the cold weather kit.

6v golf cart batteries wired to 12v will be at least double the amp hours of a 12v battery. When I get the cash I'm converting the RV house batteries to 6v AGM.

So it appears I'm going to have more down time then I expected here. I need to find where some cheap places to eat are. This hotel complex is like a prison. I gave up after spending 30 minutes figuring out how to get out and just went to the hotel cafe which is extremely overpriced....staying in the Aria/Vdara/Bellagio complex.
