Woo-hoo, you'll get to be traveling through lake-effect snow hell! FYI, winter storm warnings throughout northern Indiana.

it will be 30. so I can't imagine it will be too bad.
but I did just put brandy new bridgestone traction tires on it, and the 4wd works.
One of the few things that works as it should with no monkey business.

Ok, you should be good though.

Be prepared for 5 minutes of white-outs, 5 minutes of clear sunny skies, and so on. I've been seeing the 80/90 toll road is a disaster with wrecks, drifts, etc. 30 shouldn't be that bad though. Plymouth to Valparaiso will be the worst. Once you get west of Valpo, you should be good. 4hi and go!

that's what i've got here.

5 minutes of OMG WTF blizzard and then nothing.

There are insulated coveralls, bibs, two pair of gloves, extra socks and extra hats in my junk should I need to walk.
I'm headed home right now to make sure I have my crap together and then I'm off.
taking enough electrical bits and the laptop with the FSM on it incase more things need to happen, but it was good last night and today on the drive into work.

Dont break down over here. I don't feel like putting pants on to come get you. ..!.:D.!..

ran the snowblower for 5 hours this afternoon...this makes snowblower voyage number 4 and snowblower breakdowns 4-5. one of the blades snagged something and the cheap weld broke so it was flappin around in there. Luckily it was one of the outer blades so i drug the miller outside and made sure it wouldn't come off. about 3 hours in, suddenly the motor started dogging a lot and acted like it was running out of power. its always seemed to have a bit of an oil leak and this time the oil tank was empty...put oil in and it was fine for a bit, but then i noticed two of the head bolts were sticking up an inch higher than they are supposed to. not sure how they rattled out, but i torqued them back in and it runs better than it ever has before. they must have been loose for a while because now it seems to throw snow way better than before. hopefully this head gasket makes it through the rest of the winter...

in other news. i found a 4.2 crank and rod set here for under $100. i may never use it, but i figured it would be something good to pick up!

Was gonna tinker in the garage and start getting some gear ready for wf. Then I noticed that it's 2 degrees outside, which probably puts in in the 20s in my garage even with a space heater running.

Changed the weather stripping on the hatch of the 5.9 today. Should've taken 20 minutes. Took almost 2 hours. Broken screws, broken trim pieces...

As bad as the motor mounts.

200 miles of 4 hi and 4th gear.

bounced between rumble strips like it was kid bowling bumpers.
