so...a complete warn 12k winch minus the solenoid pack and cable that was working worth $100? looks like the replacement control/solenoid pack is about $275. any way to safely test that the motor works without electrocuting myself?

If you pass on it I'll take it. I have a solenoid and rope from my old TMax that k had to replace. If I can my the control box work on that winch it will be a sweet trailer winch!

not as cold here, but still 10 degrees out...plus we got about 5 or 6 inches of snow overnight to add to the 5 inches we already had.

snow today, tomorrow and friday. i need to get to the hardware store to get shear bolts!

Wasn't too bad this morning, but it's coming. Supposed to get down to around single digits tonight and not make it above freezing again until Friday afternoon.

Should be interesting to see how many schools close because of it...

I called the local Englishman crew leader for the Amish construction workers this morning to check on a quote for getting a tin ceiling and walls in my shop so I can insulate better and control the HVAC better.. he said that they were busy and please keep in mind that they are Amish, not Eskimos.....I thought it was kind of funny. I figured they would jump on the chance to do an inside job out of the elements. :dunno:

just paid the gas bill from the last two months (apparently i forgot last month) and our gas bill is lower than what it was during march/april last month when we bought the house. we are on budget billing so its factored by a 12 month average. our bill is now about half of what it was when we moved in for gas (about $50-60 per month as opposed to $100-120) we had a couple months were we really didn't have to pay anything because of overpayment.

what the heck did the old owners have the thermostat set at?

I need a frame and misc pieces for my dads.

He turns 60 in June, is like to get some parts to make progress.
