Important

No plan for the snow again this year. I have debated between a plow and a snowblower for the last 3 winters. My drive is about 200' long and gravel, I had a guy plow it last year and spent all spring picking gravel out of my grass. I have debated building something like this to hang off the front of one of the Jeeps.

It just floats over everything so allegedly pretty easy on gravel, can't backdrag with it but I could probably work around that.

buy old tractor and snowblower for the front.

You can pick up a set for cheap in the summer, leave it as dedicated snow machine.
Fire it up, sit down, throw snow.
properly adjusted it won't grab too many rocks.

the old whelhorse ones are plentiful and cheap

add busted wheelhorse with a HF horizontal shaft motor.

Everything I own is 4WD, so I don't worry about plowing the driveway.

Me too...well minus the dp but it shouldn't be out in this weather.

My work car isn't 4x4, being I'm on an on call team I need to be able to get it out.

It's been stuck in my driveway more than once.

If my drive is not cleared before you drive on it you won't be on it for long, no matter what you drive.

I usually just park at end of driveway before the snow falls.

Had no idea it was going to actually snow anything over a dusting today. Don't need to, but will drive the Jeep tomorrow. Probably park the car outside tonight and pull the Jeep into the garage for the snow to melt off. Might have to find some roads that are not plowed if we get more then a few inches to see how the MTR's do in snow. Car did fine going to eat and back to work though (just a light covering on the road now).

Sheer pins are a joke. Broke mine running my big 2 stage the first time in the shop, it's had grade8s for about 8 years now. I haven't used it in 3 winters, I just shovel and plow cause plow truck has a ton of scrap in the bed.

I keep shear pins because ancient ariens gearbox is unobtanium.

Can't risk tearing it up with bolts.

My work vehicle is 4x4 :D

They bought all of our command 4x4 explorers. A few of the traffic fatal team guys have 4x4 explorers. The swat guys got tahoes last year...but they are 2wd...

They have talked for years about buying 4x4 suvs for all of us for all the equipment we are required to carry. Yet we are jam packed full in Impalas for the majority of us. Maybe one day.

I hate tile.

Isn't this past your bedtime?
