The 3/4 ones do. The 1/2 tons either have a 4L60e behind 4.8, and 5.3ltr. The 6.0ltr gets the 4L65e...
The difference between the 4l60 and the 4l65 is the planet gear in the 4l65 has one more gear in it. And a couple other little things. It's still mechanically the same unit.
From what I read on the interwebs it can be a crap shoot on the 1/2 tons. Some ended up with the 4L80e for whatever reason, while most got the 4L65e. Unfortunately the 4L65e is just as prone to failure as the 4L60e under heavy towing. I was researching them hard when I was looking for a good combo tow rig/DD for the wife. Ended up finding a 3/4 ton Yukon XL 6.0 that will likely be ours Monday if it turns out as good as it looks in pictures.
