The 3/4 ones do. The 1/2 tons either have a 4L60e behind 4.8, and 5.3ltr. The 6.0ltr gets the 4L65e...

The difference between the 4l60 and the 4l65 is the planet gear in the 4l65 has one more gear in it. And a couple other little things. It's still mechanically the same unit.

From what I read on the interwebs it can be a crap shoot on the 1/2 tons. Some ended up with the 4L80e for whatever reason, while most got the 4L65e. Unfortunately the 4L65e is just as prone to failure as the 4L60e under heavy towing. I was researching them hard when I was looking for a good combo tow rig/DD for the wife. Ended up finding a 3/4 ton Yukon XL 6.0 that will likely be ours Monday if it turns out as good as it looks in pictures.

Wheeled for a few hours, discovered my drivers side motor mount is done. Going to order some brown dog ones tomorrow.

Bent my tie rod adjusting sleeve and crushed my steering stabilizer. Finished the day out and left it in attica at a friends

Anyone have a check list or something I can go over? So I know what I'm getting into before they come by.

sean r probably has a list somewhere, but i know there are things you can look at online. our inspector was extremely through, but also was very good about explaining what might cause an issue with a loan and what would be totally fine

What do you all recommend for a latch for a swing out tire carrier? Want something simple that I can hopefully get at a local store and that won't let the carrier rattle.

There's a couple things I'm worried about such as this sliding glass door

Can I just block it and screw it so it doesn't open so no one falls out and dies?

There's also a trap door in the floor in the upstairs to get large furniture up I'm going to screw down so it can't be opened so no one falls and dies.

The house is being sold as is, anything that doesn't pass is on me to fix. But as it's not my house until closing, I don't want to invest more than a couple 2x4's and deck screws to fix.

Linch pin and tube shackle mount. Don't get simpler. That's how I built Kelly's.

First house we bought was FHA, that inspector didn't do a whole lot, when we sold it that house FHA inspector wrote up everything.

A well placed angle bracket and two screws will fix the door. Or, if you can, turn the lock set around so the keyed handle is inside.
FHA inspectors can be funny. Some drove by and make sure they are not loaning $500,000.00 in a $100,000.00 area and some go through the house with a fine tooth comb. GFCI in garages, basements and sink areas are what they mostly look for. Broken glass and peeling paint are another hot button. I have seen a guy require a railing around an attic scuttle hole. It all depends on how thorough and anal the guy wants to be.

I do not like FHA "appraisers" because they do not have to follow the same licensing procedures as we do and they carry a lot more clout.

I'll get in the house and fix the little things I noticed before they come in. Then I'll wait and see what happens. Maybe I'll get lucky

My first house was an FHA loan, the guy shows up wearing a 5 pt harness and leather driving gloves in his stock Honda. I knew it wasn't going to go well.

The house had wood siding, which had peeling paint. I had to paint the house amoungst a laundry list of other stupid things.

My second house I had built, again with an FHA loan. This worked to my favor when the builder didn't do all that the loan called for.

check the valve springs too...lol...i was ready to pull my motor apart before i found the broken spring.

50-50 gamble on if its a head gasket or piston. 9 out of 10 times when I've done head gaskets on 4.o its been blown between 2-3 with a few 4-5. And every time its been 3-5 I've found a cracked head and toasted valves in 2-5. Mile long heads no lovie hot long tine
