Important

I want to say on the 97's the key fob sensor was mounted outside the dome light in that clunky thing towards the front. I believe 98+ is when they integrated it into the dome light. I could be wrong though...

hmmm.

so I probably need to pop that open and find a board/remote combo to swap it with like Dan did.

that will be super sweet.

Had a night off in the city so I drove to jersey to see a movie. Went to see fury...it's a pretty intense movie. I liked it a lot but I don't think I'll be watching it again any time soon

so how do you program remotes to jeep?

is there a learning mode?

pretty sure dan had to go to the dealer...

mac 'no more learning modes' gyvr

Found some hoods at a scrap yard, $550. He's going to look and see if he has any white ones. The quarter fenders are $100 apiece, so I'd have $750 into the whole thing, however I asked me if I could get a better price and he said he would do $700. Won't be this week.

and this is why I never went to the trouble.

Dan when I went to that bus place the guy told me you'll need the radiator support, and a few other brackets to do the swap. (Don't know if you know the true lowdown on this, but thought I should pass it along...)

From all I've learned this is correct.

This is correct. Cheapest bet is to find someone parting out, and snag a board/fob already paired. (Wander if there are any other Chryslers that would interchange?)

this is correct. The core support is different at the top, but uses the same radiator.
the quarter fender brackets are just flat metal, so they could be replicated pretty easily to hang fenders.
it's core support, hood, hinges and fenders for the absolute minimum

bummer about going to the dealer to program fobs. I may try and ebay a matching set.

there's a matching set with 3 fobs on ebay for $55 right now, even has the goofy hump with it.

there's some $10 fobs too.
it's pretty far down on my list, really I was just curious what the goofy bump was for.
I've got to swap it's transmission and fix the o2 sensor first.

I have to write some stupid bio blurb thing about myself so my work can announce that I'm taking over for our service manager who's retiring this week. I feel like I'm back in school with an assignment I don't want to do.

Finally getting to take my Jeep to Windrock in a couple weeks. Should be a good time.

Congrats on the promotion. I had to do the same thing for an assignment at school and it sucked
