Important

Been working on my hatch today. Got the back panel off and tried the zip tie trick. I am thinking the parts of the bumper here in the picture might be putting pressure on the hatch causing it to have a lot of pressure (when I have it shut all the way, I have to use a screw driver to open and it opens fine) on the center of the hatch making it impossible to open. For now, I might leave the hatch cover off and if I need to open it, carry a screw driver until I can get somewhere with a grinder if it is the issue. If I dont' shut it all the way, but only to the point the hatch grabs the latch, I can open it with the outside handle. I have to slam it to shut all the way.

so you're saying the hatch is hitting the bumper?

loosen the bumper mounts, bash it with big hammer until it shifts down, tighten bolts.

solved.

I don't think height is the issue. It doesn't hit on the bottom of the hatch, just on the corners where those pieces are. I thought at first the whole bumper height was the issue also. I can't push the bumper back any either.

anyone want or need a 60...this one keeps dropping in price. its a ford 60...

right now its at $400, but i think he would take less. i may already be bringing a motor back for durbin in december, so i might be bringing a trailer anyway.

So a year ago I put a fuel pump in the 5.9 because it was acting up.

But I bought a cheap one (different brand than yours ben). Last week it started requiring two tries at starting (like old one) and it started making this high pitched whine...

So I bought the good expensive Bosch one.

$170 bucks

Out it came again.

Nailed the tests yesterday. now, after some paper work gets filed, i will have a license in climbing and rescue!

i did have a blast doing this stuff. i know its only been 30ft so far but im thinking i might love getting out from under this desk and on top of a wind turbine or cell/tv tower. think i will look into it a little and see what kind of pay these guys are making.
was hard work though, hauling my big ass around. i am going to have to drop some major poundage if i want to make my time uptower easier.

Congrats! I think i'll stick to flying in the buckets rather than climbing. The views from atop the towers are awesome!

$170 for a Bosch? That's not bad at all! Last Bosch pump I bought was for a S-10 Blazer and it was closer to $450. Also required some wiring into the factory harness, because GM's connectors back then were (are) known for getting hot and melting, so the fix on any replacement pump is to hard wire it in.

Two times to start...which is what the oem one did for a long time and never failed.
And
Pump made a loud annoying whine.

Plus it leaked a little when it was filled to the brim.

Hmm. Wonder if that's the problem we are having with ours. Seems to crank for a while before it finally fires even after we did all new ignition parts on it. May check to make sure fuel pressure is still good and isn't leaking down on it.
