5.9 in a commercial chassis could have any number of HP ratings, including as low as 200HP.
get the numbers from the motor and have a cummins repair shop run them so you know what's in it.

I like Winnebago because I can go right to their website and find out about anything I want.

The 5.9 in the 32 ft had 275hp and the 34 ft had a 300 hp 5.9. Both have an Allison 2000 (I think right number) which is a 5 sp auto.

36+ coaches had a 330hp 7.2 cat and a six speed Allison.

I wouldn't monkey with it.

you'll be exploring the limits of the transmission, and things that say "Allison" on them aren't cheap.

allison says 300 HP MAX input @ 26k lbs in a motorhome application, and they're already torque managed to survive that.

in real applications that they were designed for like a bus they are only rated to 230. So at 275 you're already dancing on the edge.

It made it out unscathed as far as I know. He was having traction issues at launch....gee wonder why that was! I'm not a mustang guy but that thing is clean, built right and goes like hell! My buddy managed to get a 47.359 in his Subaru, only to get beat by a cobra kit car and a good driver with a 47.358. Seriously, .001 seconds.
