Important

Buy a new fan shroud, part number ch3110104, used ones always break within days for me unless they break while I'm installing them. And it is cheap.

Man you miss a lot on here when you spend a weekend at a campground with limited cell service.

Friday through mid Sunday, I won't have internet, cell or tv. This place isn't bad, you want bad, try going on Indiana gun owners trying to read new posts. Usually around 12000 or more new posts per day

Most timing chains over 100k have slop in them. Not really excessive but they do strech.
I had heard of the cut the tabs off trick and spin it before and have never heard anything bad from it.
Mine has a lot in it at 275k. I hear it smacking the cover. Occasionally on a cold start on take off it bogs down and then picks up. It also lopes sometime times and hunts for idle.

Im not that worried about it. If Im felling froggy one weekend Ill stab a chain in it.

I took Friday off, work up to Wednesday. Then I a, off for seven work days. When I take off, it takes three people to do my job because the person who fills in for me is not trained on it and has no drive to be trained on it.

Cleaning Shop today and tomorrow with the classes.

Reviews Wednesday

Finals Thursday and Friday.

Went wheeling yesterday, I got sick of asking T if she wanted to drive and stopped the jeep and told her to drive. She had a great time and was still talking about it when we finally went to bed.

She is dead set on me building Flo for her. I may have to set some ground rules beforehand, like she must help with the build, or at least be in the garage to bring me beer and get me wrenches. Lol.

Fore 'looking for used lift parts' Wheeler.

Going to buy a new DD?

We are looking into Tahoes/Yukons and will be buying in the spring. But Lex said we ARE NOT selling baby jeep and it is getting a little more lift and agressive tires. :scottm:

I started out with rotating the distributor on the Suburban, while watching cam retard with a scan tool. I could correct the ignition timing relative to the crank position, but suspected with how far I had to rotate the dizzy that the chain was stretched and the valve timing was still off. It was still slow and ran like crap. I never would have seriously considered changing a timing chain on anything before, but I'm a believer now, it sounds better and has way more power. Now I'm considering a chain on my ZJ with 298k just to see what happens.

In the process I screwed up my oil pan gasket. I was so pissed off trying to change it this weekend, I was going to track down your number to see if you had any tricks I could use. Ended up dropping the front diff a few inches to get the pan down just a little bit, then I had to fish the gasket down into the pan and under the pickup tube. What a pain.

Yea thankfully things aren't like that around here! :eyes:

We are talking about that. I would need something before anything happens. Also thinking about looking for an already lifted jeep for her.

let me know how that works for you.

I'm not expecting great results.

Less cost is the key. I was very surprised how much she enjoyed driving, which is a problem too. :D
