How much are you paying at the pick n pull for Dana 30 shafts?
Over the phone I had one yard tell me 75 and another tell me 18. I'm guess because of the price of new that the 18 price will be CV shafts.

so after wf i needed to replace wheelers Lt shaft he gave me. being a parts guy, this should not have posed a problem. i wanted to go new.
i call all my peeps looking for the best deal and find only one store will sell me new shafts and they were 50each.
not bad, but if they are 50 new, then they must be 15/20 at the pick n pull, right? also, i wanted the experience of pulling it myself, since i may break one again and dont want to rely on rew helping me. so i plan to hit the yard. well, i got a little busy and didnt make it. then, turns out a xj is in the shop and getting a whole new(used) d30 installed because of a grinding noise(this was the one i was trying to buy for 200 bucks)
so i get the ok to pull the shafts out of the junk one. i did that wed. well they were not the best, but pretty decent trail spares. still, i wanted spares for me, and needed to replace dans. so i still need one more.
"you know what, for 50 bucks i'd rather not spend the day wrenching on rusty parts in the cold junk yard"
i tell the parts store to send it.
cv shaft....i call him up, bro you sent me a cv shaft and u joints. put it together...it dawns on him and he says he cant get the u joint style.
so i call the local to me yards. one says 75 the other 18. so i figure that they probably dont know what im talking about because i was guessing somewhere around 30
so this morning i pull up to one and now they are telling me i cannot pull axle shafts...why? because then i would have d30's back there that are worthless. ill sell you a d30 for 400 bucks. haha i laughed rolled my eyes and walked out. sucks to because they told me the day before that they had a xj in there with a 6in lift that i wanted to check out. so i head to the other place. they say they only have them on zj's but i go back there anyways find 3 xj's (they said they had none) one still has axles under it. score! after fighting with the hub nut forever i just took it with the hub.
yay!

and now i can swap my own axle shafts!
note:no, rew was not with me. i was alone!

no extra charge for keeping the hub. i told him, man i couldnt get the nut off unless you want to take an impact to it. he said nah, i will just charge you for the axle
