Important

So last May my baby was born and this made me decide to not take any summer classes because, new dad. also decided not to take any fall classes because, did not have the hang of being a parent yet.

now i still don't think i have the hang of it, but i needed to get back to school.

today school starts and i do not want to go. but i have to anyways.
i wake and start my day at 5am and between work, school, and long drives in between, ill get home somewhere around 10:30pm. this is mon and tues.

baby will be in bed by then so i guess i will only see her during my hour lunch break. and i will not be able to get in the gym like i used to. now it will be thurs-sun.

my wife also has classes and hers are tues-thurs but only until 8 and she only starts work at 8:30 with a 2min drive.

i am jealous of her.

After fighting the trailer wiring on my K2500 last night for 3 hours and chasing the factory brake controller wires under the hood I really appreciate the plug in easy wiring on a 99+ Chevy.

Word. GM must have been so proud of the GMT400 trucks, then the day before they started manufacturing, somebody went "oh I just thought of something... do you think people are going to want to pull trailers with these trucks?"

As far as I can tell, the best a factory truck ever got was a bundle of wires stuffed under the bumper, no factory plug, and the customer could do whatever the hell they wanted with it. The trailer brake wiring looks like they took a piece of Romex lying around and ran it under the truck.

On my Tahoe I ended up only using the factory "blue" wire from the brake booster area back to the bumper. I bought an extension cord and cut the ends off and fed that through the firewall. Black wire from the "aux" terminal in the fuse block to go to the brake box, white wire grounded to the firewall, and green wire for brake power from the brake box to the blue wire. That was the easiest way to get a solid connection to the brake box and back since I had no idea what the last guy tried to accomplish with the factory wiring.

I was able to use all of the factory wiring after I eliminated the PO's 'engineering'. Still have to wire up the TBC, but that will be easy since all the wires have been chased.

Now that I have a nice battery the old speed charger seems barbaric. Not being an auto charger, or maintainer, or designed for agm or gel batts makes it seem wrong to use.

I am thinking of getting a Noco genius G3500 or g7200 I have their small g750 for the atv and it is very nice.

What do you guys use? and do you think the 7200 would be worth it for the extra features and more variable charging modes through the charge cycle?

I use a CTEK MUS4.3 for keeping my various batteries charged. That includes both AGM and regular lead acid batteries. I like it and it works really well.

When using the hockey pucks in the front for bump stops, how many do you think I would need to be safe when running a 4.5" lift. Don't really have a way to test it at home but wanted to have done before WF to keep tires out of the fenders.

I had like 4 to keep my 33s out

I'd say 4. 3 was just about perfect for my jeep.

It really depends. i had 3 to keep my 33's off the inner fender walls. but they are the 10.5" wide tires so they go just inside the fender. sam had 3 on the black rust bucket that your tires came from. but his fenders were cut high as hell.IIRC

there has to be some snow piles you can crawl to get a rough guess around you. :D

what are bump stops? Isnt that what the shocks are for?
