the good news is the tranny and motor seem great...drove it a few miles and got up to 50...the not so great is that there were a lot of things i missed when looking at it in the pouring rain the other day when i looked at it. i was happy to see that there is not really any rust on the body. only in a few very small spots on the under body where there always is rust on a jeep. for the most part its great. needs a lot of work in the front end, but that was expected. no check engine light...though the airbag light is currently on...

I'm driving 350 miles tomorrow to look at an RV to trade the truck and trailer for...

so im trying to figure some things out with this wj...all wj's came with a 0331 as far as i know. however, like a 2000 xj, it doesn't have the pre cats and i believe it only has 2 02 sensors...

does that mean it would be possible to use an xj head and aftermarket manifold or are there accessory holes that are specific to a wj/tj heads because of where they mount? so far there is no sign of coolant in the oil. i need to look for the head stamping to make sure the head was never replaced. it runs really great...nice and smooth. once we put more gas in it, it fired right up

Block is unique... far as I know the head is the same as a 4.0 head however. So I think you can drop an HO XJ 4.0 head onto it, deal with the coil packs, use an XJ manifold and modified/custom downpipe setup, rearrange where the O2 sensors mount and be all set. Not sure.

the previous owner plasti-dipped them black. the one in the front is the spare...

i paid $650 for it, so wheels are on the list of things to buy since i wound up coming in way under what i was planning on spending
For $650, I would have been scared. What's wrong with it?

ugh i would like to dd a wj but im afraid of what major hunks of crap they seem to be....

im getting a bad itch to track down a niner, i wonder what my rust free 93 is worth? :D

i have no idea why i want one....ive owned a 5.9 ram and threatened to set it on fire multiple times....

it was a fun truck though, i even got it dirty a few times.

a v8 jeep just sounds like so much fun

You don't need a V8 trail toy!

Even if you don't get a niner, the 318 v8 powered zj's are still decent. I had one and it had plenty of power.
